An inky one...

I made this one about a week ago I think, when I was having a play with my distress inks, but then for some reason I forgot to blog it...

I think I used Scattered Straw, Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick, on linen card, to create the background and then edged everything in Antique Linen, but I'm not totally sure.  The stamp is Hero Arts 'wildflower garden' stamped several times across the card, sentiment is Penny Black.  Quite a simple card really, but I find it so relaxing playing with the inks like this :o)

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:

I forgot to mention last week, but we finally gave into pressure from just about everyone and had Dex's hair cut... we've always liked it quite long, sort of 'surfer dude' style - his hair's very blond and a bit curly.  But honestly, the way people went on about how he looked like a girl and how 'cruel' we were keeping it long... anyway we got it cut... I hate it!  Waaaaahhhhh!!!  Morgan's hair is short and it suits him, but Dex's hair definitely looked better long... oh well, I'm going to just let it grow again and ignore everyone in future lol.

beautiful card Lisa love it as you said very simple but very effective love it.As for your biys hair isn't it up to you how he has it not anyone else yes when he's older it will be up to hiim but until then your his parents you decide Phil has an aunty how lives in New Zealand and has 2 boy's (well grown up now) but they both have white blonde hair and she was like you loved it longer and thats how she kept it lol the older one even grew some dreadlocks for a time not long ago stick to your guns

This is gorgeous Lisa! I love how you've used the inks and the stamp is perfect. I really must have a try at this technique.

Aww, why can't people keep their opinions to themselves?! You're right to let Dex's hair grow again. We have a couple of Y6 boys in school who have longer hair and they really suit it too. I think it looks 'cool'! xx

Lovely card, have only just discovered the relaxing inky fun of distress inks.

I agree that you should have his hair as you and he like it not anyone else.

Stunning card Lisa, I just love it.

I think you should do what you like about Dex's hair. Oliver is very blond too & I kinda felt it was a bit long, although it didn't make him look like a girl! But I wouldn't dream of saying anything to Catriona. He's her son and it's up to her whether his hair is long or short. He's a handsome little boy and so is Dex, people shouldn't interfere.

Gorgeous card hun, love the blended inks together, just stunning. Never take any notice of what other people say, if your son and YOU like his hair, then leave it that way, people should mind their own business! LOL. Hugs, Claire x

Smashing card Lisa, gorgeous warm colours.
Why don`t people keep their opinions to themselves. If you and Dex are happy that`s all that matters.

Fabulous card - love the image and colour combination you've used.

As for Dex's hair that's up to you and him to decide - it will grow again and you might come to a length where you feel it's "just right" rather than letting it get too long. Whatever you decide there will always be somebody that wants to give you their honest opinion !!!
