You Rock set - Digi Stamp Boutique DT

Hello :o)

You would not believe how long it took to photograph this card... I'm not sure I believe how long it took to photograph this card!!  Occasionally I like to prove to myself (again) just how useless I am at getting photos of anything that isn't square...

It's only got the front folded in half, nothing remotely complicated, but I was quite pleased with how it turned out.  I used a new set from Digi Stamp Boutique called You Rock, which comes with the Father's Day text that I've added.  The papers are foiled ones from a Craft Sensations pad (from the Range), I added some sparkly gold dots and a MFT die-namics bow die and that's about it.

Male sentiments - Digi Stamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone :o)

I actually have a few cards made for a change, so hopefully my blog won't be empty this week!...

Today's card is a quick and simple one, using a new set from Digi Stamp Boutique called Male Sentiments - Distressed.  I made the 'Grandad' text quite big (the card is 6 x 8") and added the 'Father's Day' sentiment from this set.  The dog is a Marianne Design die, and the background was made by dabbing various distress inks onto a MFT watercolour backdrop stamp and then stamping several times.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Always Fun - for a male/ dad
Crafty Cardmakers - for a man/ boy
Crazy 4 Challenges - masculine cards
Simply Create Too - for a male

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

NEW Special Dad - Digi Stamp Boutique DT

Happy Saturday :o)

Just popping in with some quick cards I made this afternoon, using a fab new set from Digi Stamp Boutique.

This set is Special Dad - Square - perfect for quick Father's Day makes.  I printed the images on linen card, added Glamour Dust around the inner circle for a bit of sparkle and shimmery silver dots, for a bit more sparkle lol.  The papers are digi ones from Raspberry Rd, found in my printed stash (I have lots!), and everything is matted on silver mirri card from Hunkydory.

I'm entering my cards for the following challenges
MAWTT - sentiment only, no images
Simon Says Wednesday - for the boys
Brown Sugar - masculine/ father's day

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Scrabble Grandad

Hello :o)

So, as I may have mentioned once or twice... ahem... I'm not really making much at the moment.  And even if I do make something, I don't generally like it enough to blog it!

I don't like many of my Father's Day creations this year, and haven't even bothered taking photos of most of them.  This one is a 'makes me happy' design though...

I'm not sure what it is about this one that appeals... it's always the simplest ones that make me happiest though.  I think maybe it's because it's easy to imagine them in different colours, and for different people... I already know I'll reuse this idea for Pav's brother's birthday.

Products Used
MFT rectangle frame dies
Scrabble stamps & matching die (Whimsy?)
All Occasion Sentiments - Clearly Besotted
Memento ink in Espresso Truffle

Thanks for popping in... hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Snoozing Monkey - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone :o)

I've used the very cute Snoozing Monkey image from the Cheeky Monkey set for today's DigiStamp Boutique DT card...

I've coloured him in prisma pencils on kraft card, just for a change... I find it very relaxing using pencils, but I'm really not very good lol.  I also paper pieced the hammock, but then added some pencil shading and covered up most of the paper piecing!

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Sketch Saturday - sketch
Papertake Weekly - for the boys
Cutie Pie - a cute one for dad

Thanks for popping in... hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

DIY Monkey - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone :o)

I'm back with my 2nd post for today, another DT card for DigiStamp Boutique using a cute image from the Cheeky Monkey set that was released this month.

I'm not too sure about this card now it's finished... I added that blue strip as an afterthought, as it seemed to need a bit more 'something', but I think it was a mistake.  It looks a bit too fussy now... and it's for a customer who tends to prefer them simple!  Might have to colour him in again and make another.

Off for a little catch up with your blogs... Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Blah!

Sorry, that's how I'm feeling about my creations at the moment - just blah!  Nothing especially wrong with this card, and nothing that great about it either... I'm just having an inspiration free week I think, mojo must have gone off for a holiday.

This card is for my auntie's little girl to give to her daddy - orders are the perfect excuse to buy images that I like, but that don't suit my own family (as we have 2 boys)... this one from Mo Manning is so sweet :o)

Items Used
Digi stamp - Father & Daughter - Mo Manning
Colouring - copics & prisma pencils
Papers - Bo Bunny Prairie Chic - MCH
Sentiment stamp - Stampin' Up

A bit of prisma colouring...

Hello everyone :o)

I fancied a change from the pens today, so I had a play with my prisma pencils instead... they're great for colouring bears I think, so I printed off the lovely Barry from Stamp Fairy.

Items Used
Kraft card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Digi stamp - Barry Best Friends - Stamp Fairy
Colouring - prisma pencils
String/ twine from my stash

Ooh, and just a quick mention that you can see some fab sneak peeks over on the Sugar Nellie blog this week for the gorgeous new fairy stamps that will be released at the weekend... love them all!

Off for a little commenting catch up... Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Spec-tacular!

Happy Saturday everyone, hope you're having a good weekend so far :o)

I've been playing with the Impression Obsession Sunglasses dies from My Crafty Heart and made a couple of sets of these slightly silly cards... I quite like silly puns and the customers seem to like them too!  I also did some with 'spec-tacular dad' on for father's day, but for some reason I didn't take a photo of those.

This one uses one of the smaller dies on an A6 card base...

and this one uses the largest die on a 6" x 8" card base...

Items Used
White linen card - Papermill Direct
Digi papers - Chevrons - Pink Petticoat
Computer generated sentiments - Pharmacy font
Impression Obsessions Sunglasses dies - MCH
Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Metallic Anthracite (first card) - MCH

Sweet Stampin' - Father's Day

Hello everyone... I'm feeling rotten today :o(  I knew Dex was starting with something yesterday when he fell asleep at my mum's, and we're both full of cold today.  Too busy to be poorly though, so I'm trying to carry on for now!

Today's card is for Sweet Stampin', where our challenge for this week is Father's Day.  We're sponsored by Cuddly Buddly and our monthly sponsor is The Ribbon Girl.  I really don't like my card - I meant to make another one to replace it but I've not had time.

Items Used
White linen cardstock - Papermill Direct
Papers - MME On The Bright Side
MFT dienamics Blueprints 1 dies
MFT dienamics tool dies
Sentiment stamp - Elzybells (no longer trading)

Off for a very slow wander around some of your blogs!... Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Less is More - coloured card blank

Hello everyone :o)

I have another DigiStamp Boutique card today, this time for the 'coloured card blank' challenge at Less is More... it's also one-layer week and I'm not great at those!...

Like my card yesterday, I opened up a solid digi paper in PagePlus, layered the image on and then added the sentiment underneath (changing the text to white before printing).  Then I sanded the colour off around the edges to leave a distressed white border.  It's dark blue, not black, in case it looks like I'm cheating for the challenge lol.

Items Used
White linen cardstock - Papermill Direct
Digi stamp & sentiment - Tie Set - DigiStamp Boutique
Solid digi paper - Pink Petticoat
Colouring - copics & prisma pencils

Bram's home from the vets looking very bald and sorry for himself, poor love!  He had two abscesses that both needed draining, and he's now got big holes that need bathing to keep them open... I'm not even thinking about the bill, it's too scary... sob!

Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Super Dad Alf - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone :o)

Today I have my DT card for the DigiStamp Boutique blog, and I just couldn't resist using the fabulous Alf again... here he is in Super Dad mode!

We had a great time in Filey yesterday, apart from getting stuck in traffic for ages on the way... Had yummy fish and chips (well you've got to, haven't you?!) but I resisted ice cream seen as I'm supposed to be dieting... We did lots of walking so hopefully that worked some of it off lol.  Wasn't it gorgeous weather all day?!

Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Less is More - a sketch

Hello everyone :o)

There's a fab sketch by Jen at Less is More this week... I've got lots of ideas so hopefully I'll be back later in the week with more creations, but here are my first ones...

Apologies for the dreadful photos - both cards are made with the exact same white linen cardstock, but you'd never know it from these pics!

Items Used
6" x 8" card blanks - white linen cardstock - Papermill Direct
Image & papers - Mr Moustache set - Pink Petticoat
Sentiments - computer generated using Pharmacy font
('fan-tache-tic' pun came from a sentiment included in the set)
Buttons - Papermania

I cut the images out, popped them up on foam pads and glossy accented them, but you can't really tell from the pics.  I cut the fishtails on the sentiments using the corner of my Stampin' Up square punch, and all the paper edges have been distressed.

Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Hubby's Father's Day card & one my son made!

Mrs Last Minute dot com here again... trailing in with hubby's father's day card at last!

I've used a LOTV stamp and for some strange reason I decided to colour with koh-i-noor pencils instead of my usual promarkers... probably not my best effort colouring-wise but I do find the pencils very relaxing :o) Papers are Pink Petticoat printed onto linen card, red cardstock is from Papermill Direct.  Cut the stars with the sizzix primitive star die, and then embossed them with my brand new Stampin' Up embossing folder - my new favourite thing I think!  Buttons and twine from stash, sentiment is Elzybells.  Layout is based on an old Papertake Weekly sketch.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:

And this one was made by my 8yr old son Morgan... (note the bold type - I didn't colour this lol!)

Bless him, I think he's done a really great job of it, and he was so pleased with himself :o)  I let him loose in my craft room with my promarkers (eek!) and he picked the paper and matched up the colours himself.  He even did the stamped sentiment himself, first time he's ever stamped anything.  I just did the cutting for him.  Image is from DigiStamp Boutique available here.

I've spent the whole day at home with Dex today - I've a horrible feeling he's coming down with chicken pox!  It's going round nursery at the moment, and he's been really limp and hot all day.  He won't eat or drink and hasn't moved off the sofa all day, poor thing.  So I'm expecting to see some spots soon.  Means we can't go and see MIL as planned tomorrow - she's got cancer and apparently because of the reduced immune system it can be quite dangerous for her to be exposed to it, even though she's had it before.

Blimey, I can't half go on!  Well done if you actually read any of that waffle... off to hop around your blogs now...

Catching up

Ok, I'm officially completely confused - can't get photos to list in any particular order and getting very frustrated.  I'm sure it's just me lol.  I'm also being a rubbish blogger this week, and even though I've made loads of cards I've not got round to blogging them.  It's the heat I think, it makes me lazy.... it's been sooo hot today and it's supposed to be even hotter tomorrow.  Anyway, I thought I'd add some of the cards I've made this week.

The first cards are all for an order - they're teacher thank you cards and are very similar to some I've made before (as requested by my customer).  I've used a cute little girl image from Digistamp Boutique, coloured with promarkers.  The papers are from the Pink Petticoat gingham download, printed onto linen card.  Mounted the images on little doilies from Joanna Sheen and added computer generated sentiments.  Simple :o)

This one is my hubby's Father's Day card from the boys, that I forgot to put on my blog before Father's Day - I followed the sketch at Delightful Sketches and missed entering the challenge there too, oops!  The image is another cutie from Digistamp Boutique, again coloured with promarkers.  The papers are Cosmo Cricket with red cardstock from my stash and a freebie sentiment from The Creative Cottage.  Added some Papermania sticky dot thingies (can't remember their real name lol), they're actually bright red and yellow but the colours aren't showing up well.  The spotty ribbon is one that my 7yr old son insisted we HAD to buy the last time he was in a craft shop with me... well how could I refuse?

Promarkers colours used:
  • Monkeys - vanilla, tan, coral (cheeks), sunkissed pink (ears)
  • Tops - sunflower yellow, tea green + soft green
  • Present - tulip yellow, sunflower yellow, gold, poppy, shale
  • Outline - cool aqua + blender
  • Ground - cool grey 1, 2 + 4 & blender

Gardening Grandpa

Yes, I know, ANOTHER father's day card, sorry! This is the last of my customer orders though, then I just have to do one for hubby from the boys. And then I'll start working through a looooong list of orders for teacher/ nursery thank you cards! At least I get to use some girly stuff on those though :o)

I've used another of Di's fabby images, this one is Gardening Pop and he's available here. He's coloured with promarkers as usual - I've not had time to write out a list of shades used (doing well with that aren't I eh?), but thought I'd share the colours I used for the bear, because I like this combi for bears - I used vanilla, then sandstone for the shaded areas, then went over all the sandstone with apricot to warm it up a bit, then over again with vanilla - it looks awful while you're colouring, but I love it when it's finished. The papers are MME, cardstock is coredinations - one piece is embossed with the cuttlebug swiss dots folder. Added a freebie sentiment from The Creative Cottage, and the Grandpa text is computer generated.

Father's day again

Here's another father's day card for an order (again!), I'm getting desperate to use girly things now! Still one more ordered card to make and I haven't made my hubby's father's day card yet either. I know I'm still being rubbish at getting around all your blogs - I'm just struggling to find the time at the moment, sorry.

I've used a fab image from Di's Digi Downloads, available here. I've coloured him with promarkers and used oval nesties to cut him out. The papers are Papermania, with coredinations cardstock. Sentiment is a freebie from The Creative Cottage, and added some nestie stars in the corners with some little spotty Papermania buttons to finish.
