As You Like It - favourite shape or fold

Hello :o)

Over at As You Like It, we'd like to see your favourite shape or fold... we're sponsored by Fantastic Ribbons with a £10 voucher for the lucky winner.

I'm not usually a 'fancy fold' type of cardmaker (I think I'm a bit lazy for all that faffing lol!)... I do quite like a shaped card base though, and use this Grand Nestabilities Labels set quite a lot when I want something a bit more interesting than a plain square.  For the stamped feet, I inked up the whole stamp in Memento Ink in Summer Sky, and then dabbed Distress Ink in Blueprint Sketch around the outside of the stamp, mainly because I didn't have a blue ink that was quite right on its own.

Items Used
Stamp - old one, but think it's Personal Impressions
Papers - Doodlebug 'snips & snails'
Inks - Memento Ink in Summer Sky, Distress Ink in Blueprint Sketch (plus some that I smudged around the image, can't remember which ones!)
Frame die - Grand Nestabilities Labels 4
Scalloped frame die - MFT die-namics
Baby die - Simon Says Stamp
Star punch
Doodlebug enamel dots

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says Wednesday - anything goes
Use Your Stuff - enamel dots
Addicted to Stamps & More - anything goes

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Polkadoodles DT - anything goes

Hello everyone :o)

I'm here with my DT card for this week's challenge at Polkadoodles... the DT are following a 'new beginnings' theme, but it's 'anything goes' for participants as always.

I couldn't decide what to make at first, then I spotted this image and thought, passing your driving test is a new beginning of sorts isn't it?  Nothing to do with really wanting to use the image of course... she's called You Passed! from Winnie Celebrations 2, and I coloured her with copics.  The papers and sentiment are from the Work and Play Love & Kisses set, and the stitched rectangle is a MFT die-namics die.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Cute Card Thursday - one word sentiment
Stempelgarten - girly
Simon Says Wednesday - add a die cut
Colour Inspiration Monthly Link Up - anything goes with hand coloured image

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Baby footprints...

Hello :o)

I've been making a few things to pop in my Folksy shop today... although so far I've been too much of a wuss to actually list anything on there!  Maybe tomorrow eh?

So, a couple of simple baby cards today...

Items Used
Stamp - Personal Impressions - Footprints
(stamped in Stampin' Up Soft Sky & Pink Pirouette ink)
Papers - Raspberry Rd, printed on linen card
Sentiment stamp - Paper Smooches
(stamped in Memento Ink in Espresso Truffle)
MFT Stitched Circle Scallop Frames
MFT Blueprints 13 (sentiment banner)
Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap (edging)
Enamel dots

Dex went on a school trip to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park today... well, it's rained, hailed and just about frozen him solid, poor thing!  He was wet through and covered in mud (they had them sat on the ground sketching???)  Got him stripped off and straight in his fluffiest onesie as soon as we got back... such a shame, he was really looking forward to going.

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Sentiments Bundle - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone :o)

For today's cards I've used the new Sentiments Bundle from DigiStamp Boutique, with this week's Less is More challenge (1 layer, geometric shapes or patterns) in mind.

They look simple don't they?... hmmm!

The amount of binned versions of these cards... ooh they did make me say some naughty words!  Smudged stamping, stray blobs of distress ink... one layer cards are so hard, because you can't get away with anything!

Anyway, these were eventually done by turning the sentiments diagonally in Word, then stamping the borders, then cutting a hexagon background die and using that as a stencil to ink through.

Items Used
NEW Sentiments Bundle - Everyday - DigiStamp Boutique
Kelly Panacci border stamps (very old and hardly used)
Hexagon die (unknown make)
Distress Inks in Festive Berries & Ripe Persimmon, Peacock Feathers & Cracked Pistachio

Do any of you sell on Folksy?  I've just started setting up a shop, although I haven't actually put anything in it yet.  Is it easy to use, and are you getting sales?

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely day :o)

Happy Engagement - Craft Mojo DT

Happy Saturday :o)

I'm running very late with my Craft Mojo DT post today... we've been shopping for Dex's birthday pressies as it's his birthday on Thursday.

I've used some of the fab 'peek-a-boo' dies from MFT to make an engagement card... for my ex-partner (Morgan's dad) and his new fiancee.  How very modern and civilised of me, eh?  Lol... it's a good development - she's very nice, great with Morgan and he really likes her, so it's great to see things becoming more permanent.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Less is More - black, metallic + one
(gold pearlised card behind the circle and sentiment... not that clear from the pic!)

Thanks for popping in... hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

One for fun...

The boys have (mostly) played nicely today, so I managed to get a DT card done this morning, and then in the afternoon they decided to watch Fireman Sam in their room... so I made a quick card just for fun :o)

I've used a Riley stamp, love these cute images :o)  I've stamped on Stampin Up Kraft card and coloured him using koh-i-noor pencils blended with sansador.  I used my brand new Paper Smooches alphabet set, which arrived today, to make the sentiment.  The stars were cut with a sizzix die and the button and twine is from my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:

Keeping this really brief so I can rush off and do a bit of commenting!

Less is More wk20 - monogram

Oh dear... this week's Less is More challenge is sooo not me!  This week Chrissie and Mandi would like to see monograms.  I'm fairly sure I've never made a card with a monogram on, and I had absolutely no idea what to do.  I finally had a brainwave, but I think it's probably a bit of a cheat....

Is a 'P' plate a monogram?  Apologies if it doesn't count!  I've used a Riley Moose stamp, stamped in 'lady bug' memento onto Kraft card.  I decided not to colour him because I thought he looked quite cute as he was - or maybe I was just feeling lazy!  The 'P' was cut with a sizzix die, and the 'well done' is a Papermania stamp.  The corner square is a bit of a cover up because I smudged the sentiment.  Added some bakers twine from my stash.

Well Dex has been a bit brighter today and there's still no sign of spots, so maybe he's not getting chicken pox after all.  We'll see!  Thanks for all the lovely comments on Morgan's father's day card - he was so happy reading them :o)
