A Gem of a Challenge - sketch

This week at A Gem of a Challenge, the lovely Gemma has created a fab sketch for us all to use.  We're also having a DT call - see the challenge blog for details if you fancy joining us :o)

I've used the pre-coloured version of the super cute Dragon Josh for my card - printed out several times on linen card and then layered up for a bit of a 3d look.  The papers are from the Honey Bee set from Raspberry Rd, again printed onto linen card, with a bit of inking around the edges.  The little sentiment tags are from one of the new sets from LOTV - I'm a bit addicted to sentiments and have bought quite a lot of them recently... just can't seem to resist!  Added some little pearls and card candy to finish.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:

We're having a bit of a trauma with Dex at the moment!  He fell over in the garden at my mum's last weekend and split his lip - lots of blood!  He's been letting me bathe it with salt water and it looked ok by Tuesday... but when I picked him up from nursery on Wednesday he'd fallen off the step they use to reach the sink, and landed on his lip again!  Lots more blood and I think the nursery staff were a bit scared to hand him over lol.  Anyway, since the second fall the cut hasn't healed very well and we had to get antibiotics from the docs... which tastes revolting and he has to have 4 times a day... it's no fun trying to get a 4yr old to swallow 2 spoons of yucky stuff 4 times a day I can tell you!  Lots of bribery going on here...

Hope you're all having a good weekend so far :o)

Less is More - yellow

I've made a quick card for this week's Less is More challenge, which is 'yellow' - I love yellow, so if I'd had a bit more time I'd have made a few more for this one.  But as I only had about half an hour in the craft room, this will have to do!

I've used a teacup die, from a set of nesties that was in my candy win from the lovely Debs, and a sentiment from the Coffee Break set from DigiStamp Boutique.  The paper is a digi one from Raspberry Rd, printed onto linen card, the flower was cut with an x-cut punch and the gem is from my stash.  I inked around the edges of the cup with antique linen and frayed burlap distress inks, and lightly around the edges of the card base with antique linen.

I'm also entering my card for the 'food or drink' challenge at Cute Card Thursday.

We've had a letter inviting us to a parent's induction session at the school next week - I can't believe Dex will be starting school after the summer, he's far too little!  Just the thought of him in a school uniform is enough to make me well up lol, so I dread to think what I'll be like when he starts.  Oh well, I suppose it means a bit more quiet crafty time... look on the bright side eh?!

Hope you all have a lovely evening, will be round to catch up on some commenting later :o)

Waste Not Wednesdays week 18

It's week 18 of my little Waste Not Wednesdays challenge, here to encourage you to use all your neglected and forgotten stash :o)  Last week was prize week, so before I get onto my card I need to announce the winner of the DigiStamp Boutique voucher... and that lucky person is...

Number 8 - Sarah

Congrats hun!  Could you email me please, so I can sort out your prize :o)

And here's my card for this week...

I've used an image from The Clipart Fairy that I've had hanging around waiting to be coloured for ages... I think I spotted these on Kerry's blog and there were quite a few that I couldn't resist - typically for me, the rest of them are still waiting to be used, but I'll get there eventually!  I've coloured this little cutie with promarkers and flexmarkers, added lots of glamour dust and my current fave - the Viva pearl pen, for the little dots around the image.  The papers are from an older MME pack, and I've used lots of bits of orange and red card from my scraps.  The sentiment is from a set I've had for probably a couple of years, and I think I've only used one of the stamps before.  Flower cut with a DooHickey die, with a card candy centre.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:
Sorry for the rushed post - hubby's shouting for me to hurry up lol... Ooh, have you picked up your freebie images from DigiStamp Boutique yet though?  Have a look at my post from yesterday if you haven't got yours yet!  Have a lovely evening :o)

DigiStamp Boutique Facebook launch freebies!

Today is the official launch of the DigiStamp Boutique facebook page and Sally-Ann is giving away two fab freebie images to celebrate - just 'like' the facebook page and grab your lovely free images :o)  The DT will all be posting our DigiStamp Boutique makes on the page if you're ever in need of a bit of inspiration, and you can share your DSB creations there too.

I made a little card to show you, using the girlie freebie (there's a boy version too).  This is Bookworm Zoe...

Isn't she cute?!  Love her!  I've coloured Zoe with promarkers and flexmarkers, and added my little Viva pearl pen dots again.  The gorgeous papers are MME Lime Twist and were part of my candy prize from the lovely Debs - thanks again hun!  The sentiment is from Paper Makeup, corners were cut with my Whimsy corner dies set, added a couple of pearls, a bit of inking around the edges and that's it - simples :o)

I'm entering my card for this week's 'cute, cute, cute' challenge at Papertake Weekly.

These fab images won't stay free forever, so grab them while you can here.  Have a lovely evening!

Cuddly Siblings - The Stamp Basket DT

How's your bank holiday weekend been then?  Good I hope :o)  Mine has been quiet, with hubby still not well, but we spent most of yesterday visiting family so I've not had chance to do much blogging or crafting... must catch up later!

I'm here with my little creation for The Stamp Basket blog, and I've used a sweet Magnolia stamp for today's card...

Items used from The Stamp Basket

Prima - essential petals 'Belle' under a matching wooden button

I love this stamp, but I get ever so confused when it comes to their feet!  I really can't tell which feet belong to Tilda and which to Edwin...lol... safest to give them the same colour shoes ;o)  I've coloured the image with promarkers and flexmarkers, and added stickles to Tilda's dress for a bit of sparkle.  Oh and the Viva pearl pen came out to play again! The sentiment is LOTV, large rose is from Wild Orchid and everything else is from The Stamp Basket.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:

Right, off for a mad dash to catch up on commenting - let's see how much I can do before I go cross-eyed!  Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Sweet Stampin' - 4-legged friends

Our new challenge at Sweet Stampin' is '4-legged friends' - nice and easy :o)  We're sponsored by Whimsy Stamps who are offering one lucky winner 5 digital stamps of their choice, and our monthly sponsor is Joanna Sheen who is providing a £10 voucher for her fab online store.

My card is one that my mum asked me for - it's for a Sheffield United fan...

I've used Football Maxwell from DigiStamp Boutique - perfect for paper pieced football shirts, which is what I've done with him.  I coloured the rest of him with promarkers and flexmarkers.  The papers are Pink Petticoat, printed onto linen card and lightly distressed with Tea Dye distress ink.  The scalloped borders were cut with an MFT die, the corners were cut with an inverted corner punch - they're the 'left-over' bits.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:

Dex is all better now so no more cuddles for mummy!  Hubby has made himself feel really awful by going back to work.. I hate to be proved right lol.  He admitted yesterday that lots of people at work said he didn't look well enough to be back.  He's now back to huddling under a blanket shivering and coughing, so it looks like being another fun weekend in our house!

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend so far :o)

Milkman retirement card...

Last year my Grandma asked me to make a retirement card for her milkman, and Sally-Ann at DigiStamp Boutique kindly adapted one of her Alf images for me to use.  Earlier this week I had a request from a new customer who'd seen that card online, and wanted a similar one for a friend.

I still think Alf looks just perfect as a milkman - makes me smile :o)  I've coloured him with promarkers and flexmarkers.  The papers are Making Memories, ribbon from my stash and the scalloped border was cut with a Tim Holtz die.  The dots in the corners were 'waste' from another die cut, and the corner was cut with one of my new favourite Whimsy corner dies.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:

Hubby went back to work today - he's not really well enough, and I think he should have waited until at least next week, but he really wanted to get back.  And Dex has got a tummy bug, so I've spent all day with him and got nothing done.  Well I suppose it doesn't hurt to have a lazy day every now and then, and I have to make the most of Dex's cuddly clingy moments - he's not the cuddliest child usually!

Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)
