Sweet Stampin' - lilac & lace

I'm back with my first DT card for Sweet Stampin'.  Our challenge for this week is 'lilac & lace' which is easy really, but I don't use much lace so it was a bit tricky for me... for some reason I've got loads of lace though so at least some of it got used!

I've used another of my favourite stamps (yes I know, another one!), this is Fizz from Sugar Nellie.  She's coloured with promarkers, flexmarkers and koh-i-noor pencils, with a touch of stickles on the bubbles and a pearl on her flower.  The papers are Papermania with cardstock from Papermill Direct.  Flowers and buttons from my stash, computer generated sentiment, and the lace started off white but I coloured it with a promarker.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:

Today is turning into a bit of a nightmare!  To start with, I'd ordered some 'make it colour' blending card from the lovely Elaine at Quixotic, because I've wanted to try some for ages... lot more expensive than my usual card but people seem to get fab results with it so I really wanted some... the postie delivered it today - jammed in my letterbox FOLDED!!!  I was in, he just didn't bother to knock.  It's all creased and I was FUMING!  I should add this is in no way the fault of Quixotic, it was packaged fine - Elaine is sorting everything for me even though it's not even her fault.

Then hubby came home with my car which has FAILED its MOT.... agh!!!!  Apparently the garage couldn't fix it because there's something electrical and it needs welding underneath or something... I dunno!  So I've now got a car I can't drive until we can get it in somewhere else to be sorted, and then pay for another MOT. That should be fun on Monday when I have to get the boys to school and nursery!

Wonderful card Lisa, I really love the colours, I like the aqua/green and purple combo.

I can't believe that your postie dis that to your card, it's ridiculous, some of them are so lazy. How good of Elaine to sort it out for you. I'm sorry to hear about your car too, I hope it's sorted soon.

Great card Lisa, love the image and the colours. I hardly use any lace and have bucket loads too - I think it's 'coz I see others use it so brilliantly and hope to be inspired to greatness, lol. We have our mail delivered to our mailbox at the end of our driveways here in Aus ours insists on riding his (motor)bike over our lawn, which is my hubby's pride and joy, leaving a rut... posties are obviously an international problem - at least we don't have MOT's here (as yet!) Gorgeous card Lisa, love the image and of course just my sort of colours!

I work in my local sub post office and all I can say is that some posties are idiots. Luckily most of them are ok!

Sorry to hear about your poor wee car. An MOT is expensive enough without having to get work done and then a re-test!

Hi Lisa, what a stunning card. Another image that I've looked at but not brought as I wasn't sure how to colour it to give some depth to the image - you've done it perfectly.

Sorry to hear about the postie - we are lucky here. Have had the same postman for as long as we've been here (10 years now!), he comes round the side of the house if we don't answer in time, have a little chat when he has to deliver parcels! We even know he is a reserve fireman, one of the perks of being in the countryside - everyone knows everyone else!

Sorry to hear about the MOT as well, hope you manage to do the school / nursery run OK on Monday.
