Isn't it hard to get back into things when you've been away, even just for a few days?  I've got quite a few card orders on the go, and I'm just shuffling them all around, doing a bit of one and then moving on to another... getting nowhere fast!

A Forever Friends card and a couple of holiday pics...

Hello everyone :o)

Here's a simple little Forever Friends card... I bought one of the decoupage sets ages ago, and then never got round to using any of it - very typical for me!

The decoupage, papers and sentiment are all from the Kraft Notes range, and I just added stickles, gems and used MFT die-namics 'by the letters' dies for the lettering.

And some photos of our boys enjoying their surprise weekend away...

It was just a couple of nights at Butlins, but we had a great time... We packed up the car the night before and told the boys we were going out for the day.  Dex doesn't really remember the last time we went there, as he was only little, but the look on Morgan's face when he saw the Butlins sign and realised we were staying!  He nearly made me cry, he was so excited!

Brett & Brenda Get Married - Craft Mojo DT

I've used an absolutely gorgeous Stamping Bella stamp for today's card.  I've just been waiting for an excuse to use this one, so when Morgan asked if I could make a card for his teacher, who got married during the Easter holidays, I was happy to oblige!

We've still not told the boys that we're going away... we're only going to Butlins for a couple of nights, as we wanted it to be a little treat just for them.  It's been SO hard keeping it quiet, and they're going to be so excited - I can't wait!

**For anyone who was wondering - I also failed at getting the worming tablet into Boris... he's a little orange beast!  He's very cuddly most of the time though, so I'll let him off I suppose... will just have to find another way to worm him!**

We took Boris (the cat) to the vets this morning for his booster vaccination... the vet checked him over and pronounced him fit and well, but as we've not wormed him for a while he offered to give him the tablet there.  He got one of those silly pill popper gadgets and Boris wasn't having any of it!  He managed to get the pill in his mouth a couple of times but it didn't stay there long, and even when he wrapped him in a towel he still managed to escape lol... so we've ended up bringing a tablet home with us - I will be doing battle later, wish me luck!

We've decided to have a couple of days away at the end of the week, as a bit of a surprise for the boys.. which means I'm now frantically rushing around trying to get as much DT stuff done as I possibly can, as well as a couple of orders and everything else that needs sorting.  It'll only be for 2 nights though, so I don't know why I'm stressing so much really!

Less is More - makes me smile!

Happy Easter!  Hope you're having a lovely day.  The boys have had great fun finding their eggs, although Dex said the Easter bunny hadn't hidden them very well lol... better try harder next year then!

I didn't play last week at Less is More, as it was one-layer week, and I have to admit I just don't really like my one-layer cards... I've made them enough times to get used to it, so they're not as tricky as they once were, but I've realised I don't like them enough to ever use them, unless I end up cutting the front off and popping it up on another card.  Anyway, after all that waffle!... I'm going to do my best to play along with all the other challenges, and this week's is a fun one - it's 'makes me smile', so anything that makes you happy really.

I've used some new Lil' Inkers dies that I bought from Simon Says Stamp... it always feels like a big treat having an occasional little delivery from the US.  All those stitched edges make me very happy, and at the moment I love any dies that I can piece back together as I have with this one.  It means that the sentiment can then be stamped directly over the die cuts... and it turned out pretty much exactly as I planned, which always makes me smile!

Craft Mojo DT - my first play with stencils & paste

Hello everyone... hope you're enjoying the Easter weekend :o)

I'm here with my Craft Mojo DT card, and I've finally been brave and used my stencils and embossing paste for the first time... I've been itching to use them, I'm just a bit of a wuss with new techniques!

I changed the white embossing paste to pink, by mixing it with Hero Arts Soft Pink... it's really easy to do - just dab the ink pad on a craft mat, add the paste and mix together.  I need a bit of practise in getting a smooth finish, but really had fun with the paste so I'll definitely have another play soon... and the texture is great for adding a bit of interest.

The layout was created using the newly released MFT Blueprints 14 set, which I absolutely love and my favourite Jane's Doodles sentiment stamp too!

Best Day Ever - Sugar Nellie DT

Hello everyone :o)

I'm here with my Sugar Nellie DT card, using a gorgeous image called Best Day Ever... I've used the rubber stamp version which is out of stock, but you can also get it as a digi stamp HERE.  I had a fairly major colouring rescue to do on this poor little lovely, as I dropped a blue copic on her face!  So she's not perfect, but I'm just glad I managed to remove and cover most of it!

All those gorgeous bright layers are Doodlebug cardstock, and I used the same card for the rainbow but coated it in Wink of Stella... and then added a few coordinating sequins for a fun little finishing touch.

Less is More - a touch of turquoise

Hello everyone :o)

Ooh, I've found time to make a card for Less is More again this week... wonder how long I can keep this up!  Their challenge is 'a touch of turquoise', which is one of those colours that confuses me a bit, much as I like it... so, I spent quite a while trying to decide what was too blue, or too green, to count as turquoise.  Hopefully this is ok!

I cut the 'thanks' die from the white piece of card first, then from turquoise, and then pieced it all back together.
