Well we had to change our plans today as it's done nothing but rain!  So no seaside, we'll have to do that when we go to Norfolk in a few weeks.  We went to the cinema instead to see Smurfs 2 - we all enjoyed it... Dex LOVES the smurfs!  So I don't think anyone minded missing the beach really.  Tomorrow we've got plans with Pav's family and could really do with it staying dry - fingers crossed!

This is another of the gifts I made for Dex's teacher and his teaching assistant... I've never altered clipboards before and I'm not sure if I'll ever be doing it again lol!  Although I do quite fancy one for myself now!  You really would not believe the mess I got in with Mod Podge though... I DO NOT like that stuff!

I've not added too much detail, because I wanted them to be usable... they do look prettier in 'real life' though.

Hello everyone :o)  Sorry I'm a bit quiet at the moment... it's a bit busy here as it's the last week of school, and I tend to slow down when it's hot too, so this is how it'll be on my blog through the school hols probably!

It's my day to post over on the DigiStamp Boutique blog today, and I've made a gift card holder for Dexter's teacher... well I made 3 altogether - 1 for Dex's teacher, 1 for his teaching assistant, and 1 for Morgan's teacher, but I won't bore you with pics of them all!

And this is what it looks like with the tag inside - it does slide all the way in, but I left it poking out a bit for the photo...

It's a wee bit hot for me though, I'm wilting!

Lili's Little Fairies - happy birthday

Our challenge for this week at Lili's Little Fairies is 'happy birthday' - there must be a birthday sentiment on your card... and as you can see my mind wandered while I was making my card and I forgot that bit lol!  It IS a birthday card (it's for the boys to give to Pav), but I spotted the 'just for you' stamp and it fit the banner space perfectly... I just forgot about the challenge!  The prize is a pretty Dovecraft paper pad provided by our lovely Squirrel, who will be celebrating her birthday in a few days :o)

Yay, Andy Murray did it!  What a fab few days of tennis it's been... I've got very little done, but never mind :o)

Here's one I've been slowly making - what with the tennis and the very hot weather I'm on a real go-slow at the moment... I don't do well in the heat, but I did promise that when summer finally arrived I wouldn't complain lol!

I've still not quite worked out Photoshop so the photos look a bit odd - think the last one shows the colours about right.

Butterfly swirl

Happy Saturday everyone :o)

I thought I'd make a DL sized card for a change - haven't made one of these for a very long time!  I cut the card blank myself so it could have the fold at the top, as I prefer all my cards top fold.

The swirl was made using a template (from Bazzill Basics)... I've had these templates for years and hardly used them.  I'm glad I dug them out again though, they're great for using with pearl pens as I've done here.  I just marked each 'hole' on the template with a little pencil dot, removed the template and then followed the pencil markings with Viva pearl dots - easy peasy!

I had a lazy day watching the tennis yesterday... such a brilliant match between Djokovic and Del Potro, and it was great to see Andy Murray go through to the final too!  Morgan came home from Katie's party very excited - he thought it was very funny that the limo played music 'with all the swear words still in Mum!' and they were all given a full glass of champagne... they're only 10 lol!

Less is More - sand

Today's card is my entry for this week's challenge at Less is More, where the theme is 'sand'... which reminded me that I'd bought (and not used yet) some Naturals Ivory card from Stampin' Up - I think it has a bit of a grainy 'sandy' look.  I didn't set out to make a sympathy card, it just evolved into one!

Ooh and I've just spotted Teresa's newest items at My Crafty Heart... Frantage!  I've see so many of you using it and it looks gorgeous so I think I might just have to try some... not sure how I'm going to choose which ones though!
