Sweet Stampin' - scallops

We have a nice easy challenge for this week at Sweet Stampin' - scallops... we've all got something with scallops, right?  We're sponsored by Crafts & Me who are offering one lucky winner 3 digi stamps, and our monthly sponsor is Joanna Sheen with a £10 voucher prize.

Crafts & Me did kindly give the DT some images to use, but as I'd had this one for ages and never used her, I thought I'd get her coloured in at last.  This is Deevonne and she's coloured with promarkers and flexmarkers.  The papers are from the fabulously named Let Them Eat Cake set from Raspberry Rd, printed onto linen card.  The scalloped rectangle is a Nellie Snellen die, corner is a Whimsy die and the flower is my current obsession - the Memory Box cherry blossom die.  Ribbon and lace from The Stamp Basket.  I added a silver spacer and large pearl centre to the flower.  Sentiment is Stampin' Up.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:

I'm hoping to drag hubby out to do a bit of clothes shopping today... well actually we'll be dragging each other because we both hate shopping for clothes lol.  I really need some new stuff though, my summer tops are all looking a bit tired - probably because I wear them all year round and just throw a cardigan over the top in the winter... I don't really feel the cold!  Anyway, enough waffling - hope you all have a fabulous weekend whatever you've got planned :o)

Elzybells bear

Here's a card I made at the weekend - it's one that my mum asked me for, for my step-sister's boyfriend who's a mechanic...

It's more or less A5 sized, although I did make it slightly wider and slightly less tall, just because I prefer it that way.  The little mechanic bear is from Elzybells (no longer trading), coloured with promarkers and flexmarkers.  The papers are digi ones from Raspberry Rd, printed onto linen card.  Sentiment is computer generated, the '21' was cut with sizzix 'night & day' alphabet dies.  Corners cut with a Whimsy die, black pearls from my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:

It's soooo hot this evening, you'd never know we had thunder storms all afternoon!  It's bright sunshine now and the boys are still playing outside... must drag them in for a bath soon though.  Ooh and Andy Murray's through to the 3rd round at Wimbledon, so far so good!  Hope you all have a lovely evening, will be round to do some commenting later :o)

Waste Not Wednesdays wk24

Yay, as I'm more or less fully fit now, I can get back to my Waste Not Wednesdays makes :o)  Feel free to join in using anything unused or neglected, just for fun this week.  Here's my previously un-inked cutie for today...

This is Hazel & Nutty from Sugar Nellie - must be out of stock because I can't see it on the Funky Kits site at the moment.  Aww I think they're so sweet :o)  I've coloured with promarkers and flexmarkers, adding heaps of glamour dust - well, isn't it the law that fairies must be sparkly?  I added my little Viva pearl dots around the image too.

The paper is a double sided sheet that I found in a drawer, it must have been there for a couple of years - it's by Daisy Bucket.  The flower was cut with my current favourite cherry blossom die by Memory Box, with an ancient silver spacer in the centre... I'm hoping this will be enough to qualify for the 'something metal' challenge on the Sugar Nellie facebook page!  The sentiment and leaf die are both Stampin' Up, pearls from my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:

It's too hot for me today, but I'm sure most of you normal people have been enjoying it... If we could just have lovely fresh spring days all year round, I'd be very happy indeed!  Hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Passion For Promarkers - ice cream & cupcakes

We have a fab theme for this week at Passion For Promarkers - ice cream/ cupcakes... mmm... We're sponsored by Joanna Sheen, who is providing a £10 voucher for one lucky winner.

I've used the very cute Zoe and Cake image from the Zoe Collection at DigiStamp Boutique, coloured with promarkers and flexmarkers, with Viva pearl dots around her and stickles for a bit of sparkle on the cake.  The papers are MME lime twist, with dark brown cardstock from Papermill Direct.  The ric rac ribbon started off white, I just coloured it with a promarker, and then it's stapled into place with lime green staples.  The sentiment is LOTV and the flower was cut with the Memory Box cherry blossom die.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:

I'm going to catch up with some commenting today, while I watch Wimbledon and maybe do a spot of colouring... Hope you all have a lovely day :o)

Clean & Simple wedding card

It's my turn to post on The Stamp Basket blog today, and I've used some of the lovely Prima 'Fairy Belle' products to make a CAS wedding card.

Items available from The Stamp Basket

A friend of a friend has asked if I could make her a wedding card, and as all I know is she'd like something 'not fussy', I said I'd make a little selection so she can choose one.  Everything on this card is from The Stamp Basket, except for the sentiment which is Pink Petticoat.

I followed the sketch at Clean & Simple Stamping so I'm linking my card up there.

Sorry for the rushed post, hubby says our food is ready!  Will be round to do a bit of commenting later, have a lovely evening :o)

Porridge...

Every year my mum asks me for a card for a friend of hers who's mad about pigs... it gets harder each year to come up with something different!  So I decided to treat myself to this lovely Porridge stamp by Sugar Nellie - isn't he fab?

I've coloured Porridge with promarkers, flexmarkers and prisma pencils, adding some little Viva pearl dots around him.  The papers are from my stash, I'm not sure what make they are, the blue cardstock is core'dinations.  The corner die is Whimsy, the flower is the Cherry Blossom die by Memory Box and the leaves are the Poppystamps Loralei Leaf die (cut into pieces).  The sentiment tab is MFT, sentiment stamp is LOTV, blue gems and pearl from my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:

I've had a nice relaxing weekend, visiting family and catching up with crafty stuff.  We spent the afternoon/ evening at my mum's today and it's been such a lovely mild evening Dex decided to strip off and run around mum's garden with everything on show lol... hope he didn't scare any of their neighbours!  Hope you've all had a lovely day too :o)

A Gem of a Challenge - recipe

This week at A Gem of a Challenge we have a recipe to follow... and we all know how great I am at those, right?  Lol, they're not my favourites I'm afraid!  So, the recipe chosen by the lovely Christine, is 'buttons, bows, bling & butterflies'... the most I can say for my card is that I did manage to include everything...

I've used the pre-coloured version of the very cute Jodie in Dungarees - printed her out a few times on linen card and then cut her out and layered her up, which you can hopefully see on the second photo.  The paper is a digi one from Raspberry Rd, with a circle cut out of the middle so the blue card blank shows through.  The pink flowers are Prima 'meadowlark', white flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, sentiment is LOTV and the butterflies were cut with Kars punches.  Button, thread, gems and pearl are all from my stash.

Thanks for all your lovely comments on my last card - such a nice welcome back!  I'm feeling better all the time, apart from being very tired still... I've been trying to catch up with some orders and DT cards, so I should be back to regular posting for the next few days.  Hope you're all having a lovely weekend, will be round to visit as many of you as I can later :o)

A card at last!

Hello!  I've finally made a card - haven't been up to crafting for 2 whole weeks and I was beginning to get very frustrated.  Last week when I posted, I'd hoped that the antibiotics would be finished and I'd start to feel better, but the doc put me on some different ones that made me sick so I felt even worse... sob!  I think it's going to take a little while to get things back to normal, but I really needed to make something, so here's a little creation for The Stamp Basket blog...

Items available from The Stamp Basket

Quite a simple card, but I'm happy just to have got started again :o)  I've coloured the adorable Tilly with promarkers and flexmarkers, and added some Viva pearl dots around her.  The frame die is Stampin' Up, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and the yellow thread is from my stash.  Everything else is from The Stamp Basket.

I'm putting Waste Not Wednesdays on hold for a bit until I've caught up with other stuff, so apologies if you came to link up for that.  Sorry to have been missing for so long - thank you for all your lovely comments while I've been away from my blog!  Hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Waste Not Wednesdays winner

Yes, I'm still here... sort of!  I had no idea the antibiotics were going to make me feel so awful - I've been sleeping and very little else since my last post!  Thank you so much for all your lovely messages, I feel really bad that I've not been able to visit you all yet, but I'm hoping to be off the tablets tomorrow if the doc gives me the all clear... Hopefully I'll feel much more like 'me' again then.  And then I can get back to blogging and crafting, and visit all of you lovely lot who've been kind enough to leave me comments while I've been zonked!

Sooo, as you may have noticed I didn't do a Waste Not Wednesdays post this week.  But as last week was prize week I need to announce the winner of the £5 voucher from DigiStamp Boutique, chosen by the very helpful Random.org... and that is...

Number 7 - Gillian

Congrats hun :o)  Please email me so I can sort out your prize.

I'm not sure when I'll be back with a card - I'm hoping soon, because I've still not made hubby's Father's Day card and haven't been near the craft room for a whole week!  So fingers crossed I'll be back in a couple of days with something to show you instead of a load of waffle.... Have a lovely evening, see you soon :o)

A short break...

Well I had my doctor's appointment this morning, and it turns out I've got pneumonia - that would probably explain why I've felt so rough then!  I'm going to take a few days 'off' and get lots of rest while the antibiotics do their thing... I'm sure I won't be disappearing completely though, I'll still potter around visiting your blogs when I can, I just won't be blogging anything or crafting much.  See you soon :o)

Pretty in pink...

Just a simple one today, using one of my favourite little Gorjuss Girls from Sugar Nellie that I haven't used for ages...

I'm still feeling awful, but luckily this one was more or less done so I just had to put it together and that was it... it could maybe have done with some extra 'stuff' but I quite like it how it is.

The image is Bumble Bee, and I paper pieced her dress and used a Prisma pencil to add a bit of shading.  The rest is coloured with promarkers and flexmarkers, with glamour dust for her wings.  The papers are Papermania, the white circle was embossed with the 'swiss dots' folder.  Whimsy pennant stamps and matching dies from The Stamp Basket, pearls and pink Bazzill thread from my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:

Feeling very guilty today - I was supposed to be taking the boys to a birthday party, the first proper invite Dex has had from one of his nursery friends... usually he just gets to go because Morgan's been invited to one.  But of course I've got this horrible chest infection or whatever it is, and woke up this morning sweating, shaking and feeling sick, so we can't go.  Dex is disappointed but he's been good about it really - I did promise he could have his own party for his birthday in January though lol - haven't actually told hubby that bit!  Doctor's appointment tomorrow, so hopefully, fingers crossed, they'll give me some antibiotics without too much begging.

Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Waste Not Wednesdays wk22

Before I get on with my post - I'm really, really sorry that I've been a bit rubbish over the last few days... so many of you have left me lovely comments and I've felt so ill I've not managed to visit many of you in return.  I promise to catch up eventually!  I think I've got a chest infection, but the docs can't fit me in until Friday so I'll have to put up with it until then...

Anyway... it's week 22 of my little Waste Not Wednesdays challenge, and as it's the first Wednesday of the month that means it's prize week :o)  So there will be a £5 voucher provided by the fabulous Sally-Ann at DigiStamp Boutique for one random lucky winner!

I'm sooo not happy with my card today!  The colouring didn't really work and the whole thing ended up a bit boring, but never mind...

I've used the very cute Louie and Cupcake, fairly sure I haven't used this one before.  I coloured him with promarkers and flexmarkers - I was going for a 'furry' look but it needs a bit of practice!  The spotty paper is from my scraps, the pink piece is core'dinations, embossed using a folder I've probably only used once or twice before, and then sanded back.  Sentiment is LOTV, corner was cut with a Whimsy die, and the pearls, buttons and velvet ribbon are from my stash.

I followed the sketch at Sketch Saturday so I'm entering my card there.

Right, off to do some very slow commenting!  Hope you all enjoy what's left of the evening :o)

Happy Anniversary to my hubby!

I'm very late with this post, but it's been a bit of a busy day (and I'm still not feeling well, but I promise not to bore you all!).  Today is my 5th wedding anniversary, and it's also my day for posting on The Stamp Basket blog, so I've combined the two and made this for my hubby...

Items available from The Stamp Basket

Stickles - diamond (on Tilda's dress)

I've coloured this sweet cuddly pair with promarkers and flexmarkers, adding my little Viva pearl dots around them.  The sentiment is from LOTV, the hearts are 'waste' bits from a Memory Box border die and everything else is from The Stamp Basket.  I kept it fairly simple because men aren't keen on loads of flowers and stuff are they?!

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:

Sorry to rush off, but we haven't even eaten yet and I still want to try and cram some commenting in!  Hope you've all been enjoying the long bank holiday weekend :o)

Sweet Stampin' - favourite stamp

Our challenge at Sweet Stampin' this week is to 'use your favourite stamp'... eek, impossible to choose!  We're sponsored by Letraset who have a set of pens for one lucky winner and Joanna Sheen is our monthly sponsor with a £10 voucher prize.

Well, I couldn't choose between all the 'cute' stamps, so I thought I'd use one of my most used silhouette stamps instead....

This is a Hero Arts stamp called 'blooming meadow', and I've used my favourite technique again - I can't remember which colours I used (apart from the purple, which is 'seedless preserves' from the Autumn limited edition distress inks), but I just inked up the stamp with the lightest colour, dabbed on the other colours randomly, then sprayed the stamp with water before stamping.

The papers are from Raspberry Rd, printed onto linen card from Papermill Direct, purple card is core'dinations.  The sentiment tag is stamped and cut out, but I'm not sure what the make is.  Whimsy corner dies and seam binding (dyed with 'seedless preserves' distress ink) are from The Stamp Basket, pearls and card candy from my stash.

I'm really sorry if I haven't managed to visit you for a couple of days, I've got a horrible rattly cough and sore throat and I'm just wiped out... it would've been nice if we could all be well for the Jubilee weekend, and I could really do with getting some crafting and commenting done.  Don't these yucky bugs know I don't have time to be ill?!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend :o)
