Prairie Fairy sale!

Just popped in to let you all know about the Prairie Fairy sale. I should have put this on earlier but it's been one of those days! There are some gorgeous images so go and have a look and this weekend you'll save 20% off any order over $10.00 :o)

Also, hopefully tomorrow I'll be adding a little candy that will include a little Prairie Fairy treat. I had intended to put it on today but haven't managed that either! My hit counter decided to reset itself so I've no idea how many hits I've had, but I know it was over 10,000 the last time it was playing nicely. And I've not properly celebrated my Prairie Fairy DT position on here yet, so it's definitely time for some candy.

Fairy Fun Fridays week 4 - sketch

It's time for another Fairy Fun Friday challenge, and this week there's a fab sketch - mine turned out a little odd so don't let mine put you off! Hope you'll join in the fun this week :o)

I've used a cute little image called Twinkletoes from Prairie Fairy, coloured with promarkers with glamour dust on her wings. The papers are K&Co with Bazzill cardstock. I've been experimenting with my new blossom nesties and made a flower from lots of layers of handmade paper, sponged it a little with distress ink, scrunched it up and then fixed the layers together with a gem brad - I also gave it a quick spray of adhesive and sprinkled on some glamour dust but the photo hasn't really picked it up. I need a bit of practice with these flowers but I think I like the effect. The centre panel was cut with my new MS doily lace trim punch, sentiment was computer generated, then added some rainbow drops and a heart button (which looks a funny shade of pink, but isn't, honest!) to finish. I had intended to follow the sketch properly and was going to use a 5 x 7 card blank, but halfway through I realised the papers I'd picked out were 6 x 6 lol, so I had to adapt it to a square, oops!

TGF CHA Relay Day 3 - toby cub

Well I've kept up with the relay so far, amazingly! Today's image is Toby Cub, but I've made him girly :o) I've cut him/ her out with nestie circles and then cut a pink blossom nestie to mount the circles on. The papers are Making Memories, with coredinations cardstock. Sentiment is a Pink Petticoat download and the buttons & bow are all Papermania.

TGF CHA Relay Day 2 - Charlotte

Well I'm still on track - this one's for the second day of The Greeting Farm relay. I thought I'd use quite a busy paper and keep the image fairly big, so that it would look better as a simple card - I need to be quick with these relay cards, because I've got some DT cards to get done over the next couple of days too.

Today's image is called Charlotte, and I've coloured her with promarkers and added some sakura clear glitter pen for eyeshadow and on her belt buckle - the sparkle doesn't show up in the pic though. I've used my woodware inverted corner punch around the image. I think the paper is Papermania, I've had it ages and never used it - I think I'm putting myself on a paper ban for a few months because I have sooo much of the stuff! The black card is coredinations, sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and finished with some black rainbow drops.

TGF CHA Relay Day 1 - Mer Ian

My second post for today. I decided to have a go at the relay at The Greeting Farm - I'm sure there's no way I'll manage to keep up every day, but I thought I'd at least try!

The image for today is Mer Ian, isn't he cute? I'm not sure about my card, it's a bit different for me, but then I've never been any good at making anything quickly! Also, my printed images could've done with a bit longer to 'set' but there's no time for that, so I've not been able to do loads of blending or the lines would have smudged. The spotty paper and the water effect one behind the image are both DCWV, blue cardstock is coredinations, with some plain orange cardstock from my stash. The circle frame was cut with nellie snellen dies, added a Craftwork Cards sentiment and some buttons from stash. I've already got my image printed off for tomorrow's card, so finger's crossed I'll manage that one too :o) I've followed the sketch from Sweet Sketch Sunday and I'm also entering my card for the 'boy birthday' theme at Stampavie.

Crafty Cardmakers challenge 13 - hearts & romance

It's time for a new challenge at Crafty Cardmakers and this time we'd like to see your loved up creations for our theme 'hearts & romance' :o) I hope you'll join in with us, and go and have a look at the fab DT creations too - and we're welcoming a brand new team member Vicky today!

I've used an image from Digistamp Boutique, coloured with promarkers. The papers are Cosmo Cricket 'early bird', with green DCWV cardstock and plain red cardstock from my stash. The hearts were cut with a Martha Stewart punch, and I backed them with some hand-cut plain hearts (cream cardstock is whitewash coredinations). The sentiment is a downloaded one from Pink Petticoat.

Totally Gorjuss challenge 14 - dimension

It's Saturday so it's time for another Totally Gorjuss challenge, and this week we'd like to see you add dimension to your projects. Hope you'll join in with us!

What do you think of the photo today? I took what I thought was a better pic, sent it to Lori (my Prairie Fairy teamie who is very patiently trying to help me sort my photography out, poor thing!) to see what she thought, and she fixed it up for me - it looks way better than it did! And she's even added a watermark to it, thanks Lori, you're fab! Anyway, on to my card.... I've used what I think is my favourite Gorjuss Girl, coloured with promarkers, and I've layered up her crown for dimension. The papers are MME be loved, and I've cut out some of the flowers from the paper and layered those up for a bit more dimension. Cardstock is DCWV, sentiment is Papermania with a few little pearl hearts added, lace from stash and finished with a few rainbow drops.

Fairy Fun Fridays week 3 - anything goes

It's time for another challenge at Fairy Fun Fridays, and this week we have an 'anything goes' theme, so you can make anything you like as long as it includes a Prairie Fairy image. I've used this lovely Little Helper fairy, she's coloured with promarkers with glamour dust for the sparkle on her wings. The papers are Basic Grey Lemonade (can you believe these are my first ever Basic Grey papers?), with DCWV & pale pink linen cardstock. The fancy corners are a sizzix die, the circle was cut with nesties and I've used my new Woodware inverted corner punch on the corners of the image. The sentiment is from the fairy sentiments set of stamps that I bought from Quixotic, but I keep forgetting to check what brand they are! Apologies for the state of the photo, it makes my colouring look awful! My fellow Prairie Fairy teamie Lori is trying to help me improve my photography but I think today's effort looks even worse than usual lol - I must keep trying!

Pink Gem dragon

Finally a card! I've not had a very productive week for some reason, I think I'm in hibernating mode and I'm only going in the craft room for very short bursts - it's cold up there!

I've dug out a neglected stamp from Pink Gem Designs - it's ages since I used this one and I've no idea why because I think he's gorgeous, in fact I think I might use him again soon for a card my mum's asked for. He's coloured with my usual promarkers, with glamour dust on his wings because I like a bit of sparkle :o) The sentiment is a Stampin Up one that I got as part of a free gift when I subscribed to Papercraft Inspirations last year. The papers are new ones that I bought from Quixotic Paperie - they're MME and I think they're called Just Dreamy, the little stripy scalloped border strips are from the matching accessory sheet. Cardstock is DCWV, with some coredinations whitewash card for the star embossed circle - I love the effect of the whitewash when it's sanded back. Buttons are papermania, ribbon is one I scavenged from one of my birthday boxes of choccies lol. And FINALLY I've used my bow-easy, another purchase from Quixotic but ages ago - I played with it a bit when I first bought it but this is it's first proper use. I'm absolutely hopeless at bows usually!

Totally Gorjuss challenge 13 - all in one

I'm a bit late with my DT card for Totally Gorjuss because it's my birthday and we've been off visiting family all afternoon :o) Nearly everyone has given me cash for new craft stash, so I'll have a lovely spending session later, and Pav got me a new printer because the old one was rubbish, and I think we're going to get a new kitten tomorrow :o) Or at least we'll go and have a look, see if the cat shelter have some in that are ready to leave. Anyway.... this week at Totally Gorjuss we'd like to see you make monotone cards, and I've used shades of lilac for my card.

I've used possibly my favourite fairy image (although it's hard to choose) from Prairie Fairy, available here, coloured with promarkers with glamour dust for her sparkly wings. The papers are a Pink Petticoat download that I've not used for ages (due to having a rubbish printer!), cardstock is coredinations. I've used the Martha Stewart zig zag border punch and the heart is an MS punch too (cut from coredinations whitewash card), with a button added because I thought it looked cute. The sentiment is a new one from a set that I bought from Quixotic but I can't remember the brand!

Fairy Fun Friday week 2

It's time for another Fairy Fun Friday challenge with a fab sketch from Roberta. There are loads of gorgeous images to choose from at Prairie Fairy, I hope you'll be able to play along with us!

I've used this cute little Roocat image - he comes with different outfits to dress him up in, so I've put him in these little dungarees. He's coloured with promarkers and I cut the dungarees out and shaped them, then attached them with silicone glue so that they're a bit 3d. The papers and buttons are from the new Docrafts goody bag - I've never bothered buying one before but had to get this one, everything in it is so gorgeous, all bright and summery. I've also used my new Martha Stewart zig zag border punch and new raffia lace from Bunny Zoe's. Orange cardstock is DCWV, brown & yellow is coredinations. The sentiment is a Cuddly Buddly stamp, mounted on a Nellie Snellen circle die.

Crafty Cardmakers challenge 12 - what's new?

Time for another challenge at Crafty Cardmakers - we'd like to see what's new to you, so you could use some brand new stash, something you've not used yet or a new technique, whatever you fancy. Hope you'll join us :o)

I've used my new Riley Moose (Hanna) stamp, bought from Bunny Zoe's with my Christmas vouchers, he's coloured with promarkers. I've made him into a girly card, hope he doesn't mind lol. I love these papers but I'm not sure of the brand because they were given to me by a crafty friend ages ago - if anyone knows what they are could you let me know so I can buy some more?! Pink cardstock is coredinations and the brown is bazzill. Card blank is a cream scalloped one from Craftwork cards. Sentiment is a Penny Black stamp that I've cut out and then edged with distress ink. Added some Green Tara flowers with a button centre and some little pink pearls to finish.

Totally Gorjuss challenge 12 - a sketch

This week at Totally Gorjuss Net gave us a fab sketch to work with. I had one of those days while I was making my card and I don't really feel like my card is completely finished, never mind! I'm posting really late today because I decided I needed to spend more time playing with Dex - it was his 2nd birthday yesterday but I had such a busy day that I don't feel like he really got much time with me. He probably didn't care, but I wanted to make it up to him today, so I've not spent too much time on the computer.

I've used a Sugar Nellie image that I've had my eye on for ages and finally caved in and bought it lol. I bought a couple of stamps in their sale and this one sneaked into my basket at the same time so I let it stay ;o) I've coloured her with promarkers and then cut the image out. The papers are Doodlebug with DCWV cardstock. I used nestie circles to cut a circle from some of the paper, then mounted it on a nellie snellen circle. Added some rainbow drops, and a butterfly gem and lace from my stash. Sentiment is Papermania.

Fairy Fun challenge week 1

The very first Prairie Fairy challenge is here! And you can now buy the fab Prairie Fairy images in the new shop although I know there were a few glitches with the launch last night - hopefully these will all be ironed out by now, but if you have any problems you can leave a comment on the Prairie Fairy blog and I'm sure Roberta will be updating us all on there soon.
Roberta decided to start the challenge blog at the same time as the site was ready to launch, so she sent us the sketch with about 5hrs to get our cards together - although she said we didn't have to do one if we were busy, I couldn't miss out on the very first challenge could I? Too exciting! So, as we had a busy evening and I couldn't make anything until everyone else was in bed, I was in my craft room until the early hours of the morning and didn't send my card to Roberta until 2.30am. To say I'm slightly tired this morning is an understatement lol!
I've used the little snails tale image, coloured with promarkers and cut out with nestie circles. I drew around the nestie on DCWV cardstock and cut it out to get the circle for matting, then added glamour dust around the outside of the circle. Papers are MME beloved and I used lots of bits from the accessory sheet to save a bit of time - the paisley shape, love circle, die cut border, the sentiment (from Elzybells) was also stamped on one of the accessory pieces. The flower that I've mounted the 'love' circle on is a chipboard one that I've coloured with the mint green promarker.
Apologies for all my squashed up text - for some reason blogger's started taking my paragraphs out. DH showed me the html code to correct it but he's working this morning and I can't remember it lol.
Oh, huge thanks to everyone who visited my son's blog and left lovely comments on his card, and to everyone who's following him - he's thrilled! I seem to have messed up setting up his blog though, and used my profile to do it, so I don't think he can follow people... not sure what to do about that! Can you tell I'm not very good with computers really?

A little favour to ask....

Would anyone do me a favour and pop across to the new blog I've set up for my 7yr old son here - he made his very first card today, for his brother's birthday, and I know he would be over the moon to see some comments or followers. Thank you :o)

My 1st Prairie Fairy DT card

Well you'll soon be able to buy Prairie Fairy images (sometime today or tomorrow hopefully!) and Roberta has given the DT some images to play with :o) I've used this gorgeous lion image for my youngest son's birthday card - I can't believe he's going to be 2 on Friday, how did that happen?! I'm not totally happy with my colouring on this one - he's a bit too yellow I think, but I wanted to keep him nice and bright for this card. He's coloured with promarkers, cut out with plain circle nesties and mounted on a nellie snellen circle. The papers are Doodlebug, with coredinations cardstock. Lettering cut with the sizzix 'night & day' alphabet dies - I always forget to use these! I've used a small nellie snellen die for the sentiment label, computer generated sentiment. Added rainbow drops, a button, yellow fibres and card candy to finish.

Sorry there are loads of pictures - I find it really hard to show an easel card properly!

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:
  • Allsorts - sketch & new or old (new image)
  • Corrosive - use 2 favourite embellishments (hard to choose, but I've used a button & rainbow drops)
  • One Stop Craft - something beginning with 'B' (button, brown black... umm big lion? lol)
  • Pile It On - anything digi and/or anything clear (image & rainbow drops)
  • Charisma Cardz - celebrations

And here's the birthday boy himself, playing in the snow today :o) We've got loads of the stuff!

Totally Gorjuss challenge 11 - thank you

This week at Totally Gorjuss we thought we'd have a 'thank you' theme, always handy at this time of year. Hope you'll join us - remember you can use any image but you'll get 2 entries if you use a Gorjuss Girl :o)

I've been playing with my new stash again, bought with my Bunny Zoe vouchers. The image is a new Greeting Farm one, coloured with promarkers, and I've used my new MME 'beloved' papers too. The cardstock is a mix of Bazzill and DCWV. The sentiment stamp is from the same set as the image and the heart is from the accessory sheet that came with the papers - just added some glamour dust around the heart and some little pearls.

Cards For Men 2nd challenge - New

Here's my DT card for this month's challenge at Cards For Men, where this month we'd like to see all things 'new' - so 'new home', 'new job', 'new baby' etc, and obviously they have to be for men or boys.
I decided to make a baby boy card, but I fancied doing something a little bit different so I've not used blue... of course this had nothing to do with these new MME 'beloved' papers that I bought with my Bunny Zoe vouchers and me being desperate to use them lol. Hopefully it still works for a boy though. The image is an Elzybells stamp, coloured with promarkers and cut out with nestie squares. Cardstock is a mix of coredinations and DCWV. The sentiment stamp was in one of the goody bags that Funky Kits were selling ages ago, and I've cut it out with nestie circles and then mounted it onto a nellie snellen die. The buttons were also Bunny Zoe purchases - I was very impressed with the store and the service and will definitely use them again. Finished off with a few large flat back pearls.
