Sorry to have disappeared for a while - my eBosser finally gave up, so I had nothing to cut with... I've replaced it with a Gemini, which is fabulous!  The plates are much lighter than the eBosser ones, and it cuts so well - the die cuts just pop out of the dies, no fiddling, swearing, poking or tearing involved lol.

We've been out for a meal today at Bella Italia with the boys and Pav's family, then went shopping for a few last 'back to school' bits and pieces... managed to pick up a few tops for myself too, which is very unusual (I hate clothes shopping!).  So I'm full and tired, and wet because it's pouring down!  We should really be walking the dog now, but he doesn't like the rain - he'll wait all day until he can't hold it any longer, and then mad dash into the garden for a quick wee... the rest of the time he sits staring sadly at the rain, and sadly at us, as if we're the ones ruining his day!

Sweet Stampin' Challenge - no DSP

This card didn't really turn out as I wanted it to, but never mind... I had fun making it!  I splatted and brushed on a few different Spectrum Noir Aquatints, flicked some water drops on, sponged on some distress ink, added a bit of silver gilding wax, dots of copic opaque white with a paintbrush and even a bit of doodling around the edges (I never doodle so I'm not sure what came over me).  Lots of messy fun!

We're putting a trampoline together today... we've been at it for hours already but we're getting there!  We asked the boys what garden things they'd like for the summer, in an effort to get them off their games and outside occasionally, and they debated between them and decided on a trampoline and a basketball net.  I'm quite pleased as I'll be able to use the trampoline for a bit of exercise myself lol.  Chester (the dog) seems to think it's a new den for him to lay under though!

Now I know we're not supposed to moan about hot weather in the UK.... so, you know, I'm just having a good whinge about it in my head!  Give me spring all year round, that would suit me just fine.  Loving having the kids off school though... the squabbling hasn't reached 'driving me mad' volume yet, although I'm sure they'll get there eventually.

Floral Heart - DigiStamp Boutique DT

I seem to be making a lot of wedding and anniversary cards at the moment, most of which I can't show yet, but I think I'm fairly safe blogging this one.

The image was one of this year's valentine's images from DigiStamp Boutique, but it works well for anniversaries too.

I printed it out twice, cut out and layered up the flowers.  Then roughly cut a heart shape around the image and distressed it so the shape didn't look too wonky!

The Inspirers DT card

Today's card is for The Inspirers DT at Crafter's Companion... I've used the fab freebies that come with Crafter's Inspiration Issue 10, plus some cogs & gears and a bit of sanding (ooh it is satisfying lol!).

I'd forgotten how much I enjoy playing with sandpaper on core'dinations!  I also used it on the edges of the papers, which is a fun thing you can do with digi papers... because they're printed on white card, you can sand the top layer off in places for a distressed look.

I went with a shaped easel card as I've not made one for ages.

I also dug out my Inktense pencils (birthday pressie from hubby, not this year but last year) that I've never got round to using, and had a play... This one's for an order, so I still need to make Dexter's thank yous... which is always the way for me.  I still have to make the kids' Father's Day cards for Pav, but all my orders are done obviously... I'm never organised with cards I need myself!

Some of you might already have seen this on FB, but I'm very happy to say I was chosen to be part of The Inspirers DT for Crafter's Companion... so exciting!

I made this card just before I found out I'd made the team, so thought I'd save it to post now... it's not a DT card, but does feature a gorgeous Crafter's Companion die (another one that I couldn't resist... oops!).

Lil Piggy - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello :o)

I've used an older image for this week's DigiStamp Boutique DT card, as it's time for my 'annual piggy card'!  Lol, every year my mum gets me to make a card for her friend who loves pigs... and every year it gets harder to find a new pig that I've not used before!

This one is from the Lil Piggy Valentine Set, but there's no reason it can't be used for other occasions.

I always take terrible photos of anything that's not square!

Father's Day/ Special Man - Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Our challenge for this week at Sweet Stampin' is 'father's day or special man'.  Our fab sponsor is Marianne Design.

It's our wedding anniversary today, so my card is for my lovely hubby.

I've had a busy week with half term and Pav booked a few days off too, so I've not had much time in the craft room... had to quickly make my card while Pav walked the dog so he wouldn't see!  So it's quite simple, but that's often best with male cards anyway isn't it?

DIY Cat - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone :o)

For today's card I've used a new image from DigiStamp Boutique, he's called DIY Cat and he's very cute.  There are some more images featuring him, including some fab thank you teacher ones... you can see them all HERE.

This one's for an order, but I might use it again for hubby's father's day card... not because he likes DIY, he really doesn't!  But we've spent a lot of time painting over the last few months and there's still loads to go, so it'd be quite appropriate for him too... not sure he's quite so smiley when he's painting though!

Fabulous birthday...

Another play with that new die for today's card... I made this in a few different colours but I won't bore you with them all!

The card blank is 5 x 7", just to give you an idea of the size of the die.  I punched lots of flowers, shaped them with an embossing tool and added card candy centres (from my big box of card candy that I rarely think to use these days).

I missed a delivery this morning (it was early, I was asleep and didn't get there in time!)... I couldn't remember ordering anything and I was trying to work out what it could be (I love mysterious packages lol), then Pav, who's at work this morning, pointed out that it'll be Chester's 'mystery dog treat box' that we have delivered monthly... how very disappointing!
