DIY Cat - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone :o)

For today's card I've used a new image from DigiStamp Boutique, he's called DIY Cat and he's very cute.  There are some more images featuring him, including some fab thank you teacher ones... you can see them all HERE.

This one's for an order, but I might use it again for hubby's father's day card... not because he likes DIY, he really doesn't!  But we've spent a lot of time painting over the last few months and there's still loads to go, so it'd be quite appropriate for him too... not sure he's quite so smiley when he's painting though!

Items Used
Image - NEW DIY Cat - DigiStamp Boutique
Colouring - copics
Papers - So Rad - Simple Stories
MFT Stitched Square STAX
Star punch
Buttons from my stash

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Fabulous birthday...

Happy Saturday :o)

Another play with that new die for today's card... I made this in a few different colours but I won't bore you with them all!

The card blank is 5 x 7", just to give you an idea of the size of the die.  I punched lots of flowers, shaped them with an embossing tool and added card candy centres (from my big box of card candy that I rarely think to use these days).

Items Used
Classical Edge die - Crafter's Companion
Flowers - x-cut punch
Sentiment - Clearly Besotted
Card candy - Craftwork Cards

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says - anything goes
Creative Corner - bingo (white, yellow, black)
Seize the Birthday - birthday (plus optional dimension)

I missed a delivery this morning (it was early, I was asleep and didn't get there in time!)... I couldn't remember ordering anything and I was trying to work out what it could be (I love mysterious packages lol), then Pav, who's at work this morning, pointed out that it'll be Chester's 'mystery dog treat box' that we have delivered monthly... how very disappointing!

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely day :o)

A wedding card and a new die...

Morning everyone... or, you know, afternoon (or evening?) depending on when Blogger decides to let this appear lol.

For today's card I've used another of those sneaky new dies that keep finding their way into my home...

I couldn't resist this fab curved die (and a few others that were equally sneaky) from Crafter's Companion.  I'll probably replace the sentiment with a personalised one - it's a card my mum asked me for, but she didn't have the details (it's her hubby's relative getting married and she didn't want to get it wrong).  I thought I'd get it made while the idea was in my head though!

Items Used
Classical Edge die - Crafter's Companion
Heart dies - Lil' Inkers
Leaf-filled Flourish die (cut up) - MFT die-namics
Sentiment - Clearly Besotted

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely day :o)

Harry Fishing - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello :o)

Apologies for disappearing for a few days... it's just been one of those weeks, and also my blogger issues are driving me slightly mad!  I'm going to schedule the next few posts in the mornings, and then at least I know they'll show up during the day some time instead of in the middle of the night.

Anyway, enough moaning from me!  Here's my card for DigiStamp Boutique this week, using the fabulous new Harry Fishing.

My hubby doesn't fish... he's one of those awkward men with very few hobbies!  This one is for an order.

Items Used
Image - NEW Harry Fishing - DigiStamp Boutique
Colouring - copics
Papers - So Rad - Simple Stories
Sentiment tags - LOTV
Doodlebug twine

I'm entering my card for the following challenges

Terrible Teens - Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Happy Saturday :o)

Over at Sweet Stampin', our challenge for this week is 'terrible teens'... and ooh mine is SO hard to please!  We're sponsored by the fabulous Lawn Fawn with a great prize for our lucky winner.

So, as a general rule Morgan is very supportive of my cards.  He often pops into the craft room and says lovely things about my makes... he raves about them to other people too, he's a great walking advert for me lol.  However... when it comes to cards for his own friends he becomes a flippin' nightmare!  They can't have too much stuff on them... that's embarrassing.  But they also can't be too simple... then there's not enough on them, and we might as well have bought one... sigh.  This one passed though thankfully, and was given to one of his friends.  Morgan quite likes neon at the moment, and there's a bit of detail on it but not too much.  Dex is SO much easier!

Items Used
Stamp - MFT Birthday Chalkboard Greetings
MFT Stitchable Dot Circle STAX
Stiched square - MFT Blueprints 14
Neon card - Papermania?  Might have been free with Docrafts mag
Doodlebug enamel dot
Star punch

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

At sea....

Hello :o)

I wanted to play along with this week's Less is More challenge, even though it's the dreaded 'one-layer' week... and the theme is 'at sea'... ummm.... ummm...

Ok, so I might be pushing the theme a bit, but that could be the sea that he's fishing in, couldn't it?

I don't usually enjoy making one-layer cards, but I have to admit, I did have fun with this one!  Lots of masking, inky splodging, flicking water and ink, spraying shimmery stuff... which doesn't show up in the main photo so here's a little close up that sort of shows it.

The only problem is, there are now smudges of ink on the back of the card, as it's just about impossible to be neat and tidy with that much ink flying around!

Items Used
Stamp - Kids at Play - Flourishes
Sentiment stamp - Penny Black
Distress Inks - Shabby Shutters & Faded Jeans
Stampin' Up Ink - Night of Navy
Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Spray - Sea Foam
Paper Smooches Stitched dies
Plus water (and drops of night of navy ink) flicked off a paintbrush!

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely day :o)

Milestone word art - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello :o)

I've made a couple of simple cards using a fab new set from DigiStamp Boutique... big bold sentiments for those special birthdays.

I printed them onto patterned paper from an old pad that I'm trying to use up... strangely whenever I try to use the scraps up, I just seem to create more... not sure if I've ever managed to completely finish a paper pad lol!

Items Used
NEW Milestone word art - DigiStamp Boutique
Papers - Happy Days - Papermania
Twill ribbon - Fantastic Ribbons
Buttons from my stash

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Penny Black cats...

Happy Saturday :o)

I spotted this die in a sale recently and just couldn't resist!  Wish there was a dog version too.

The lovely Sarah mentioned on yesterday's card that I could also enter it for the 'inlaid dies' challenge at AAA Cards... but I thought I might as well make a new card, seen as it gave me an excuse to use my new die.  I'm now thinking this one would be far better for the friend I made yesterday's card for... but I personalised that one lol!

Items Used
Penny Black feLINE die
Sentiment - Stampin' Up
Paw print stamp - Paper Smooches Chubby Chums
White Ink - Stampin' Up

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Less is More - pastel shades

Hello everyone :o)

Wow, that bug really wiped me out!  I've hardly done anything this week, just been too tired.  I really wanted to join in with Less is More though, so here's my attempt at 'pastel shades'...

My first play with that butterfly die that I was searching for.  I cut it from white card, and then from all the other colours, then pieced it back together... not totally successfully, as it didn't seem to want to go back together!  There are a couple of tiny gaps that are irritating me.

Items Used
Bellina Butterfly Ribbon die - Poppy Stamps
Sentiment & alphabet stamps - Paper Smooches
Memento Ink in Espresso Truffle
Stampin' Up Ink in Coastal Cabana

Off for another snooze... hope I'm back to normal tomorrow, need to get making again!

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Birthday Pip set - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone :o)

Sorry I disappeared for a couple of days... I've had a bug that knocked me out (literally, yesterday - I slept for hours!).  More or less back to normal now though.

I've used one of this month's new images from DigiStamp Boutique for today's card... this little cutie is Birthday Pip.

Items Used
Image & sentiment - NEW Birthday Pip set - DigiStamp Boutique
Colouring - copics (plus Wink of Stella on the cake topping)
Papers - Sugar Shoppe - Doodlebug
Flowers - MFT flower & leaf trio die
MFT stitched rounded rectangles
Doodlebug enamel dots
Buttons from my stash

Right, so it's nearly 5pm as I'm posting this... wonder which side of midnight it'll actually pop up on the blogger dashboard!

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

May Flowers - Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Happy Saturday everyone :o)

Our challenge at Sweet Stampin' this week is 'May flowers' and we're sponsored by Crafty Ribbons with a £10 voucher for our lucky winner.

I played with an older Hero Arts stamp, and one of my favourite techniques that I've not used for ages... ink up the whole stamp with your lightest ink, then dab on other brighter/ darker shades, spritz the stamp with water, then stamp... easy peasy, and looks different every time.  I also tore paper for the background... so unlike me!

Items Used
Stamp - Hero Arts - Blooming Meadow
Bow die - Lil' Inkers
Sentiment stamp - MFT
(stamped in Memento Ink in Espresso Truffle)
Distress Inks (image) - Shaded Lilac, Seedless Preserves, Walnut Stain
Distress Ink (edges) - Frayed Burlap
Pearl brad - The Hobby House
Ribbon from my stash

Blogger is driving me mad... for some reason all my posts go up in the middle of the night at the moment, hours after I actually post them.  So I'm posting in the morning for a change, to see if it actually manages to pop up today!

Hope you have a lovely day :o)

40th Birthday

Hello :o)

I've been playing around, making my own sentiments in Word... here's one of them on a card.

Items Used
Sentiment - computer generated
Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Labels 1
Flower - MFT Blueprints 19
Memory Box - Lavish Branch die (cut up)
Memory Box - Corner Bow die (cut up)
Organza ribbon - Fantastic Ribbons
Pearls from my stash

Hubby's off out tonight, so I'm going to find a cheesy film and eat pizza and chocolate lol... maybe have a sneaky vodka & lime too ;o)

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening.

Designer paper in a CAS style...

Hello :o)

Today's card is for this week's challenge at Less is More, where the theme is 'designer paper in a CAS style'... I might be back with another later in the week though, as this one isn't as nice as it was in my head!  I don't hate it though...

The white pieces are popped up with foam pads over the striped paper, and the flower was cut from some vertical blind fabric that my mum gave me ages ago (she makes blinds).

Items Used
Paper - Simple Stories - So Rad
Flower - MFT Blueprints 14
Thanks word die - Paper Smooches
Button & twine from my stash

I'm feeling a bit rattled at the moment... a woman was attacked on one of my regular dog walking routes, and I'm really not enjoying going for a walk now.  I went with a friend this morning (as we do every week), but obviously can't do that every day.  Even if I vary my route it doesn't help, as the path that the poor woman was dragged off links up to lots of other local fields/ woods... will end up walking in the evenings when Pav's back, but I like my morning walks.

Also... have any of you been having problems with Blogger?  For some reason yesterday's post didn't pop up on the dashboard until the early hours of this morning, and it seems to be doing the same today too.

Anyway... thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)
