Swirl Christmas Tree - DigiStamp Boutique

Hello everyone :o)

Here's a couple of cards (ok, so it's the same card, just in different colours!) using the gorgeous Snowy Backgrounds and the Swirl Christmas Tree cutting file, which will be available soon from DigiStamp Boutique.

The snowy backgrounds were printed on linen card and I added Glamour Dust to the 'hills'.  I cut 3 trees for each card, using my Cameo, and layered them up for a bit of dimension, then sprayed the top layer with Spray & Sparkle.  I wanted something sparkly for the top of the tree but couldn't find quite the right thing, which considering the amount of stuff in my craft room is slightly ridiculous... but anyway!  So I started with black enamel dots, covered them in Glossy Accents, then sprinkled on some fine black glitter.  The sentiment is an old one from Elzybells (now closed... I miss that shop!).

Off to have a little wander around your blogs... hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Buzz Owl & Branch Background - DigiStamp Boutique

Hello everyone :o)

Today's card was for a friend to give to her little girl... she loves owls and pink things!  I used the very cute new Buzz Owl from DigiStamp Boutique, which comes as a set of pre-coloured images with a black outline version too.

I layered up one of the pre-coloured owls onto one of the new Branch Backgrounds and printed it out with an extra owl, so I could cut out and pop up the wings.

The papers are LOTV, as are the little tag stamps.  The frame and flower dies are MFT, sentiment stamp from Clearly Besotted, and I added some Doodlebug enamel dots and buttons from my stash.

Tomorrow it's Morgan's 13th birthday... I have NO idea how he's managed to get so grown up - he's now taller than me!  Both Morgan and Dex have got into roller skating this year, so he decided he wanted a roller skating party, which we had last night.  Lots of his friends came... they're all nice lads, but I have to say, teenage boys are a very odd bunch!  I think they had a good night, but it's really quite hard to tell with some of them ;o)

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening!

New cut files from DigiStamp Boutique!

Happy Saturday everyone:o)  Sorry for the long gaps between posts... it'll probably be the same on here for the rest of the year, but will get things back to normal again next year!

Anyway... today's a bit exciting, because I get to unveil a brand new range at DigiStamp Boutique.  Sally-Ann is now creating cut files for use with digital cutting machines.  Here's one of the first ones that should be available to buy very soon.

This one is Snowy Landscape, cut on my Cameo... I've kept my card very simple and quite flat for posting.  Just a bit of glamour dust here and there for a bit of sparkle, and an MFT snowy background stamp (the white ink is Stampin' Up)... finished off with a sentiment stamp from Clearly Besotted.

This version was cut at just under 6", but I also cut another at around 4" and that cut with no problems too.  My plan was to make a few different ones, but Chester was at the vets being neutered yesterday, and they rang me a LOT earlier than I expected, because he was barking and howling the place down!  So I had to go and collect my very wobbly dog at lunchtime... and there went my planned day of crafting.

I don't usually do this, but while I'm here I thought I'd give a fab local company a bit of a mention.  We're trying to be healthier at the moment... bought a soup maker and we're eating more fresh foods.  I found a lovely family business on Facebook, where you can order fruit, veg and salad (they also have freshly baked cakes and breads, but I behaved and didn't order those... ooh and free range eggs, I did get some of them!).  They deliver straight to your door, and I'm so impressed with the huge boxes of fresh goodies we got, it's great value.  So if you're in or around Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster, Worksop, Chesterfield or Derby, have a little look at their FB page HERE.  I'm not on commission lol, it's just nice to support good small businesses isn't it?

See you again soon, hopefully... have a lovely evening :o)

Using the scraps!

Hello :o)

I'm finally getting that urge to create back again... lots of ideas buzzing around and no time or space to do anything with them!  Hopefully it won't be tooooo long before all the work's done, and then I'll have a lovely new craft room to play in... it's getting a bit frustrating having to wait now!

I noticed this week's challenge at Less is More was to use 'snippets' for Chrissie's birthday (happy birthday Chrissie!!), and as I had a few minutes spare I whizzed this card together.

This was made entirely from little leftover scraps of paper, mostly Doodlebug... I didn't cut anything, all the scraps were left as I found them.  Even the butterfly was from my little basket, where everything that gets punched or die cut but then doesn't make it onto a card, ends up.  I should do this more often... it was fun and very quick!  I could probably make hundreds of cards and still not get through all the scraps though... especially all the bits of white card.

Off for a quick walk with the dog, and then it's fish and chips for tea :o)  Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening.

Thank You Monkey Kite - DigiStamp Boutique

Hello :o)

I'm still poorly... what started as a cold seems to have turned into a chest infection, but the doctors haven't been able to fit me in so far... sigh.  I'll end up at the walk-in clinic, but I hate being on antibiotics so I've been putting it off!

I still had things that needed making though, so here's one of last week's creations... a thank you card for one of Dex's teachers.

The super cute monkey is from DigiStamp Boutique HERE.

The chalkboard was made with an MFT die set.  Paper Smooches lettering stamped in white Stampin' Up ink, with a bit smeared around the black card for a 'chalky' look.

Thanks for popping in... hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Red, white & blue anniversary

Hello :o)

I have one of my occasional cards to blog today... roll on September (October?... dunno!), when things will hopefully be back to normal here.  I'm panicking slightly about Christmas already, will have to make all my cards in about a month at this rate!

So... this one's an anniversary card for an order, and I took inspiration from this week's challenge at Less is More, where the theme is 'red, white & blue'.  A bit last minute entering, but I got there in the end.

The little birds & branch is from the Silhouette store, cut on the Cameo, with a Doodlebug enamel heart added.  The sentiment stamps are from Clearly Besotted... the 'husband' one was embossed in detail white, the anniversary one stamped in SU night of navy ink... super simple!

Back to the tennis (go Andy!), Lemsip and tissues for me... thanks for popping in :o)

Cute Farm Set - DigiStamp Boutique

Hello :o)

I've been a bit quiet again this week, as I've had a poorly Dex at home... Managed a couple of makes though, so here's one of them.  My annual pig themed card for one of my mum's friends!

I used a ball tool to gently round each of the pieces, and then layered them up with Collall 3d glue so he looks a bit 'padded'.

The cute pig and sign are from the Cute Farm Set from DigiStamp Boutique, and the numbers are Hanging Letters font.

Products Used
Papers - Dress Shoppe, Always & Forever - LOTV
Sentiment - All Occasion Sentiments - Clearly Besotted
Flowers - Bo Bunny/ Prima
Resin Flowers

We're just off for a walk now it's started to cool down a bit... I was worried the dog would overheat if we took him earlier!

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Scrabble Grandad

Hello :o)

So, as I may have mentioned once or twice... ahem... I'm not really making much at the moment.  And even if I do make something, I don't generally like it enough to blog it!

I don't like many of my Father's Day creations this year, and haven't even bothered taking photos of most of them.  This one is a 'makes me happy' design though...

I'm not sure what it is about this one that appeals... it's always the simplest ones that make me happiest though.  I think maybe it's because it's easy to imagine them in different colours, and for different people... I already know I'll reuse this idea for Pav's brother's birthday.

Products Used
MFT rectangle frame dies
Scrabble stamps & matching die (Whimsy?)
All Occasion Sentiments - Clearly Besotted
Memento ink in Espresso Truffle

Thanks for popping in... hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Without Words - summer holidays

Hello again :o)

I wasn't expecting to manage another blog post so soon, but I'm not complaining!

Over at Without Words our challenge for this month is 'summer holidays'... I didn't manage a card for the beginning of the challenge, but I've made it in time for the midway post.  This is the first colouring I've done for about 2 months, and I was so rusty I couldn't even remember what colour combos I usually use for skin lol.

This little cutie is from Tiddly Inks, coloured in copics, the sentiment/ alpha stamps are Paper Smooches.  I know it seems an odd choice for a male card, but it was for my auntie's little girl to give to her daddy - they swim together and did some snorkeling on holiday in Florida apparently.

Thanks for popping in... hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Best Birthday Ever

Well... hello!

Haven't I been a rubbish blogger eh?  There's nothing wrong, so I hope I've not worried anyone... assuming anyone noticed I'd disappeared!  I'm just struggling to get back into the whole crafting and blogging routine.  Even when I manage to make something, I can't seem to get round to blogging it!  To be honest, this probably won't change until the extension's completed, which is at least a few months away, so it's going to be a fairly quiet blogging year for me I think.

So anyway... here's a card at last!  Made using one of the fab Large Birthday Sentiments from DigiStamp Boutique.

The papers are Bazill Basics, the star die is from Joanna Sheen (cut into two pieces), and the numbers are an MFT die.

And a pic of the furry one who disrupted my routine in the first place.  Chester's now nearly 7 months old, and for a puppy, is very well behaved and 'easy' usually, apart from wanting to be everyone's friend when we're out for a walk... He'd also love to be friends with the cat, but Boris is not having any of it!

I do have other cards finished, so hopefully it won't be too long before I blog again... Have a fab weekend, and thanks for popping in :o)

Cluck Cluck set - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone... time for one of my very occasional posts!

I've been wanting to use this set from DigiStamp Boutique since it was released last month and I've finally managed it...

The fab image and sentiment are from the Cluck Cluck set, which you can find HERE.  Happy chickens... what's not to love?

Not long after we got Chester, we taught him to ring a bell when he needs to go outside... seemed like a good idea... it's very handy most of the time.  It's just that he's a clever wee beastie, and he's realised that when I'm trying to do something, like a bit of colouring, ringing the bell handily gets my attention... which is why I gave up on the patchy sky around this chicken, because he just wouldn't let me finish it properly!!

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

MFT High Tops - Craft Mojo DT

Hello!  I'm back with one of my occasional posts.  Sorry for the long gaps... the daft thing is I do have a few cards made, but just haven't found the time to blog them!  I'm still not back into regular crafting, but hoping that when my downstairs craft room is built I'll get into a better routine again... although it'll be a few months before that's all done.

Anyway... here's a card using some fab Craft Mojo goodies.

I like making male cards, but teenagers are always a bit more difficult I think... this MFT shoe die is perfect though.  It's quite big, but this card is 6"x8" so it looks smaller here, and works really well with the large sentiment stamp.

And here's an up to date photo of Chester, now 5 months old, enjoying his first visit to the beach in Filey a couple of days ago... we all had such a great time, everything's more fun with a dog :o)  See the red spade in the background?  He wouldn't let Dex dig with it, he kept pinching it and running round in circles with it... little monkey!

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening!

Cute Pup set - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone... sorry for the long gaps between posting at the moment, I'm just not feeling very creative lately.  Hopefully this will improve soon!

Here's one of this month's cute images from DigiStamp Boutique... there are lots more new ones that you can see HERE - all fab!

Obviously I'm very drawn to all things puppy at the moment, so I couldn't resist using the Cute Pup set... this is one of the new offer sets, and is just £1.25 for a fab selection of images and sentiments!

Thanks for popping in... hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Spring Bently - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello... sorry it's been a while, it's been a truly rubbish week!  Dex was ill, then I was ill, and then our elderly cat Bram decided he'd finally had enough of plodding on, and we had to make that horrible decision at the vets... the house feels so strange without him, and we all spent most of yesterday sobbing!

Onto today's card, using cute Bently bunny from DigiStamp Boutique... you can find this image HERE.

I had a total blank on what to use, so I kept it all white and followed the sketch at Sketch Saturday to keep me on track.

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Yappy Birthday - Craft Mojo DT

Happy Saturday :o)

Here's my DT card for Craft Mojo, which is also doubling up as my entry for Less is More this week.  Their challenge is 'this makes me happy'....

... and here's what makes me happy!  Along with the rest of the family of course :o)  He's very tired in this photo, as we've been for a long walk today... we didn't mean it to be quite so long, but we got a teeny bit lost, all hubby's fault lol.  Chester is 15wks old now, and it feels like we've always had him.

Stitched dies always make me happy too, so I used some of my favourite MFT ones... and I decided not to colour the image for a change, and just added some touches of white Prisma pencil.  Oh, and I quite like punny sentiments too, so I masked the 'h' of 'happy birthday' and added a 'y' from a Paper Smooches alphabet set.

I'm also entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says - anything goes
Papertake Weekly - take your pick (I chose to follow the 'kraft card' challenge)

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening!

Mother's Day set 3 - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone :o)

A flying visit from me, just to pop in with my DT card for DigiStamp Boutique using a pretty flower image from one of the new Mother's Day sets... you can find this one HERE.

I don't know why I bother making shaped cards... I'm so rubbish at taking photos of them I'd be far better off sticking to squares!

The shaped card and numbers were all cut using my Silhouette Cameo machine.  I haven't used it for a while and decided it was about time I had another play.

Right, better go as we're supposed to be at my mum's now... I'll pop back later with a product list.

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Valentine Bird Collection - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone :o)

Apologies, I don't seem to have posted anything for a while!  I just seem to have very little time at the moment, and I don't really like anything I'm making either... this time of year is generally a bit 'flat' for me so maybe it's just that.  It would have been Harvey's (our middle son) 8th birthday on the 19th, which is generally the most miserable day of the year for me.  I'll pull myself together eventually!

Anyway, here's a card for an order, using an older set from DigiStamp Boutique, which is still one of my favourite sets... I used 2 of the images and flipped one to face the other way.

The images are from the Valentine Bird Collection which you can find HERE.

On a brighter note, I'm really loving getting out for walks with Chester... it's funny, I'd never think to go for a walk in the pouring rain if we didn't have the dog, but I've enjoyed every walk, the weather hasn't bothered me at all.  And so many people stop to chat... everyone's very friendly when you're walking a cute puppy!

Thanks for popping in... hope you're all well, and I'm sorry if I haven't managed to visit you for a while.  Have a lovely evening :o)

Valentine Dinky - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone :o)

I'm running late as usual, but here's one of the new images from DigiStamp Boutique... this is Valentine Dinky.  Cuuuuuuute!!

The card didn't exactly turn out to plan, and neither did my colouring... but that's the way things seem to go at the moment!

We took Chester for his first walk on Sunday... I've been so looking forward to getting out with him.  He's pretty good on the lead so far, and I've really enjoyed our first little trips out, although this morning's walk was in thick fog and was just a little bit spooky!

Apologies again for being such a rubbish blogger lately, I'll get into a routine again eventually I'm sure!  Thanks for popping in... hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Flower Bird

Hello everyone :o)

As usual I'm very short of time... just thought I'd quickly blog this one, seen as I managed to finish a card.

This one's for my auntie's birthday... it's not the one from me though, it's for my mum to give her.  It's mum's birthday tomorrow and I've still not finished her card!

I'm very excited at the moment, as it looks like we'll be able to go ahead with the extension... and the builder recommended going with the version I really wanted, which Pav thought would be too big a job.  Very happy and I can't wait, although I'm not looking forward to the actual work being done!

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Without Words - Je t'aime

Hello everyone :o)

Well I'm a bit late, but I'm here with my DT card for this month's challenge at Without Words, where our theme is 'Je t'aime'... so we'd like to see all things lovey dovey!

I used a cute image from DigiStamp Boutique called Love You Mac and some random Doodlebug papers... My friend asked for a valentine's card for her hubby, and this little dog looks just like their dog Percy, so he'll be perfect.

I've managed to position a little bed for Chester in the doorway of the craft room, and even convinced him to sleep on it ;o)  So hopefully I'll be able to get a teeny bit more done from now on... I really need to work on him being left alone, but he just hates it and barks his head off the whole time.  We've tried ignoring the barking, feeding him in the crate, giving him a special treat when he's left, tv on, music on... I even bought an album that's supposed to calm dogs down, that didn't help either!

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)
