Crafty Cardmakers challenge 7 - stamp something!

Time for another Crafty Cardmakers challenge - this time it's stamping. Now most of us use stamping all the time, so we'd love to see you do something different with it - there are lots of ideas and some lovely examples from the rest of the DT on the blog. Hope you'll all join in!

I must admit, I struggled to come up with something different for this one. I got myself all stressed about it and then decided I was being silly and opted for masking, seen as I've only tried this once before, just last week, so it's a different technique for me. I've used Sugar Nellie manga stamps, stamping the sitting girl first, then masking her off and stamping the standing one behind her. I then coloured the images with promarkers. The papers are Cosmo Cricket, with Bazzill cardstock, the flowers are cut with a x-cut punch, from the reverse of one of the papers, with little blue gems for centres. Added a purple ribbon (bought from a craft fair) and a downloaded sentiment from Pink Petticoat to finish.

I've also made this for Stampin For The Weekend where their challenge is to use the colours orange, blue and purple and take inspiration from one of their song choices - I chose 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun', although these girls don't look like they're having that much fun do they lol? I didn't think I'd manage these colours, but then I spotted these papers in a drawer and thought they'd work nicely. I've followed the sketch at Crafty Catz and I thought it would also fit with Tuesday Taggers theme of 'bursts of colour' - it's certainly bright and colourful!

Today's not a very good day so far - I hardly slept last night for some reason so I'm shattered, then this morning I had to get us to school earlier than usual for a 'family' school photo. I was hoping to get a nice one of Dex and Morgan together (last year's was lovely!) but Dex is going through a very shy and clingy stage and I don't think she got a single decent pic - lots of shots of the back of Dex's head, Morgan trying to pin him down or of him scowling at the camera. Grrr! Then after school I've got to take Dex to the doctors for a jab, which promises to be lots of fun - he's hysterical enough if a stranger just comes near him, let alone sticking needles in him! Oh well, fingers crossed he'll be ok afterwards, I'm totally paranoid about jabs and always expect something to go wrong. Roll on tomorrow!

  8. Gorgeous card Lisa and I love the way you masked the images. Lovely bright colours - love it. My little grandaughter has always been clingy with her mum. Makes you feel bad when you don't see them very often! As she gets nearer 2 she has got a lot better. Photos are a nightmare cos they move so fast don't they? Hope Dex got on ok with his jag.
