Pop up box card

Happy Saturday :o)

I spotted a fold that I wanted to try when I was browsing Silhouette files, but I don't have access to my Silhouette at the moment (long story involving the craft room move, bad planning, shelf units and plug sockets...), but I figured it couldn't be too difficult to work the fold out myself, so I did!  This one's for a customer, so the design gave me plenty of room to fit in all their requirements.

Photos from umpteen angles in an attempt to show you the fold...

To give you the basic gist...
1. Start with a standard square card (mine is almost 8" square), score and fold the front in half.
2. Cut a strip of card the same length as your card when fully opened out, and score the same folds in reverse... Stick this piece in place and that forms your box fold.
3. If you want the pop up sections (like the beer and sentiment in the centre of mine), cut strips of acetate (or card if you don't mind them showing) half the width of your card front, plus an inch.  Score and fold half an inch each side to form tabs.  Stick the tabs in place within your centre 'box', then add your pop up pieces. Done!
