Christmas in July - Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Ooh I really must get back into blogging properly!  It's not that I haven't got cards to blog, I have... just got fed up with all my blogger issues and it put me off.  Maybe one day it'll sort itself out though, so I really should keep trying.

Anyway... we have a new challenge starting over at Sweet Stampin', and this week our theme is 'Christmas in July'.  We're sponsored by the fab Michele R Designs, who provided the DT with some lovely papers to use for the challenge.

We're putting a trampoline together today... we've been at it for hours already but we're getting there!  We asked the boys what garden things they'd like for the summer, in an effort to get them off their games and outside occasionally, and they debated between them and decided on a trampoline and a basketball net.  I'm quite pleased as I'll be able to use the trampoline for a bit of exercise myself lol.  Chester (the dog) seems to think it's a new den for him to lay under though!

Wedding card - The Inspirers DT

Hello everyone :o)

Now I know we're not supposed to moan about hot weather in the UK.... so, you know, I'm just having a good whinge about it in my head!  Give me spring all year round, that would suit me just fine.  Loving having the kids off school though... the squabbling hasn't reached 'driving me mad' volume yet, although I'm sure they'll get there eventually.

Anyway... here's a DT card for The Inspirers for Crafter's Companion.

I've used lots of spray and sparkle on this one (you probably can't see most of it in the photo) as according to my mum, who ordered the card, wedding cards must have glitter.  Never really thought about glitter and weddings, although sparkle is obviously the law when it comes to fairies or Christmas!

Floral Heart - DigiStamp Boutique DT

I seem to be making a lot of wedding and anniversary cards at the moment, most of which I can't show yet, but I think I'm fairly safe blogging this one.

The image was one of this year's valentine's images from DigiStamp Boutique, but it works well for anniversaries too.

I printed it out twice, cut out and layered up the flowers.  Then roughly cut a heart shape around the image and distressed it so the shape didn't look too wonky!

The Inspirers DT card

Hello everyone :o)

Today's card is for The Inspirers DT at Crafter's Companion... I've used the fab freebies that come with Crafter's Inspiration Issue 10, plus some cogs & gears and a bit of sanding (ooh it is satisfying lol!).

I'd forgotten how much I enjoy playing with sandpaper on core'dinations!  I also used it on the edges of the papers, which is a fun thing you can do with digi papers... because they're printed on white card, you can sand the top layer off in places for a distressed look.
