We're off out school uniform shopping today, possibly the most hated shopping trip of the year!  We've put it off until nearly the last minute as usual... The boys go back to school on Wednesday and I'm wishing we had another couple of weeks, the 6 weeks seem to have flown for a change.  It'll be nice to get back into a routine though, I suppose.  Hope you all have a lovely day :o)

Hello everyone, hope you've had a lovely bank holiday weekend... We've not done much really, think we just needed to wind down a bit after our holiday.  We had a big sort out and rearranged our bedroom though, so we can put the cross trainer in there for me to use... really need to get exercising again!

Here's a card I made a while ago for an order, using one of my favourite silhouette stamps by Flourishes, I do love silhouettes.

I'm not sure if you can tell from the photo, but the spotty piece is raised up on foam pads while the image is flat behind it.

Pollycraft Challenge - buttons & bows

Hello everyone :o)

I'm here with my DT card for Pollycraft Challenges where our new theme is 'buttons & bows'.  I've coloured this sweet little bear using prisma pencils for a change - I often use them for adding a bit of shading to my copic colouring, but hardly ever colour entire images with them, so I've never fully got the hang of them and I'd really like to... I find them very relaxing to use compared to markers.

To be honest, I think this attempt looks a bit rubbish and washed out, but I didn't have time to redo it!  Think I'm going to take the pencils on holiday with me, see if I can find time to practise while we're there.

Mr Moustache

Quite a few friends and family members buy my cards, I'm lucky that they do... and then I have the gift shop to supply too of course.  I never seem to have enough male cards to satisfy everyone!  So I'm just making some general ones, as I'll be seeing my mum tomorrow and one of my friends later in the week, and they've both asked for some.

We went to Chatsworth House today - it's beautiful there, but the main attraction for the kids is the fab play area... keeps them amused for ages, Pav included lol!  We ate in the restaurant there, and Dex amazed us by eating fish fingers, broccoli and potatoes with no fuss (it even had some sauce on - eeek!  We were expecting tears).  He's the fussiest child ever and we were seeing all sorts of specialists at one stage but it never got us anywhere.  We've just had to give it time, and finally he's starting to try new things, and I could just cry with relief every time he tries something and likes it.  It's hard to explain to anyone who's never experienced extreme fussiness/ food phobias but it's wonderful even if he tries something unhealthy - last week it was a sausage roll, and someone (who shall remain nameless!) commented that it wasn't the best food to be encouraging, but I really don't care what it is, as long as it's something new!  His most extreme 'fear' is bread, and I really will cry if he ever gets as far as trying that!

Sorry, that ended up being a bit a ramble... hopefully those with fussy kids will understand, and maybe it'll even give someone a bit of hope that things can improve!

We're off to Yorkshire Wildlife Park today, meeting my mum and her hubby there...
