Something a bit different...

Well it's different for my blog anyway!

Since I've been selling more cards, I've obviously needed to make more... and I'm not a particularly fast crafter, so anything that speeds me up is a good thing.  So I use some pre-coloured toppers, a bit of decoupage, I've got a couple of CDs... I just don't tend to show any of it on my blog!

This is my mum's card though - she really loves the decoupage cards I've made, so for her birthday (which was yesterday) I thought I'd use a decoupage from a Wellington CD.  I know it's not the most 'fashionable' technique, but I quite enjoy it and I knew mum would love it, and she did :o)

Items Used
8" square card blank - Craftwork Cards
Image - Wellington decoupage printed onto Papermill linen card
Papers - Papermania capsule collection
Grand Nestabilities Labels 4 dies
Memory Box Corner Bow die - MCH (out of stock)
Memory Box Precious Hearts die - MCH
MFT die-namics By The Letters dies
Pearls from my stash

I'll have something stamped and coloured to show you tomorrow!  Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

I must admit to enjoy making cards with some decoupage, it may not be fashionable but I think the end result is lovely.

  8. This is beautiful Lisa! I know what you mean about things not being fashionable, but it's how you put them together that brings them up to date. That's what you've done - perfect modern decoupages card!

  10. Lisa please don't put yourself and your wonderful creations down like that.
I understand what you mean cos it's looked down upon these days so I don't always show cards I've made with peel offs, toppers & die cut decoupage. I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one who uses them. I use them because mum loves them - it's the glitz and foiling that she loves!
This is gorgeous hun even if others think it is not fashionable Karen x

  11. I think we all get that everything needs to be innovative or different but the people we create the cards for don't know if it is the latest trend or not unless they are crafters of course, I had so many comments on my decoupage card I am going to show all my creations from now on and I hope you will too. I didn't buy this cd as wasn't sure what was on it but it is on my wish list now I have seen your gorgeous creation. Hugs, Amanda x

  13. It's a beautiful card, Lisa! Let's face it, it's the end result that's important and the pleasure it gives the recipient, not the 'clever' techniques used in making it! I'm sure your Mum will love this gorgeous card!

  17. This is so lovely hun and love the colours and gorgeous elements. It doesn't matter what we create or whether it's the in thing or not, at the end of the day, if we are pleased with it and so is the recipient (I bet your Mum loved it) then that is all that matters. Have a lovely day. Hugs, Claire x

  26. Gorgeous card Lisa - I love the decoupaged image and I bet your Mum loved it too.
I think there can be too much 'crafting snobbery' sometimes - it doesn't matter what products we use - it's all about the creativity and the end result and this is fabulous.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
