I didn't really feel like colouring today, so I've made a couple of simple cards for this week's Less is More challenge, which is to combine 3 past challenges.
Struggled with the photos a bit, I suspect hubby has been playing with the settings on the camera... will have to fiddle with it later, see if I can figure it out!
For my first card I've used an MFT flower die on black core'dinations, and used the 'leftover' piece instead of the flowers - I saw Jenny do the same with her flower die ages ago and have been meaning to try it ever since. I stuck some small scraps of paper (Papermania capsule) behind each flower cut out and added some gems. The sentiment is Stampin' Up, stamped onto pale pink linen card, which was also used for the mat behind the flower panel.
Combined past challenges for my first card: week 43 bit of bling, week 51 cut it out (aperture or hole), week 55 punches or die cuts.
And for my second card I used a Memory Box die called Dancing Tulips - it's supposed to have a large leaf too but I didn't use that bit... not sure why! Used some pink card from my scraps, a Stampin' Up sentiment and some gingham ribbon from my stash.
Combined past challenges for my second card: week 1 pink, black & white, week 12 off centre, week 42 silhouette.
Dex is still coping fine with the yucky chicken pox spots - he's even got one on the inside of his eye and it's still not bothering him... strange child! It's bound to start getting itchy soon, we can't be this lucky with it for long lol! Will be round to catch up with you all later, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

I love both these cards, Lisa! I especially like the first one. :-)
ReplyDeleteMy eldest daughter had a massive case of chicken pox when she was little (and also had them in her eyelids) and she didn't scratch at all. I thought she was a one-of-a-kind type of kid, but Dex seems to be made of the same stuff! I hope he gets through it without too much discomfort.
2 stunning cards - just adore the first black one, but both fabulous - Glad that Dex is coping well with his CP spots! My daughter was the same when she had them didn't worry her at all, but my son was quite poorly when he had them! strange how it affects them so differently they were both covered in spots! Hope you have a great day Hugs Lou x

ReplyDeleteOh wow, two stunning cards. I love the MB tulip die :o)
ReplyDeleteJackie xx
Hi Lisa, such beautiful cards! Love those dies and the colour combos you've used.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the C. Pox isn't bothering Dex too much. Em had one on her eyelid when she had them the worse and I had great trouble stopping her from scratching! At least she didn't get any in her mouth tho! Unfortunately the first spot she developed scarred from her scratching so she has a little scar between her eyes(and another by her ear which doesn't show). Luckily she's not too bothered by them and hopefully, over time, they may fade. It's good that Dex isn't scratching, so hopefully no scars.
Sarah
I love both of your cards. So simply elegant!!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa. Beautiful simple card. I love them. Have a nice day. Lily Anuska
ReplyDeleteClean and simple cards, so excellent and stunning. I haven't used the hole made from the punch/die in a long, long time. Thank you for reminding me of that. Pink and black are such a great combination. The thank you card is great too. I rushed right out and added the tulip die to my wishlist.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous cards Lisa

Poor Dex. The one inside is eye made me cringe...bless his heart! Strange that he's not that bothered though, although I guess that's a good thing. The longer it doesn't bother him for the better.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards here Lisa. Sometimes simple is just so perfect and you've proved it here!
If you are interested, I am running a little candy on my blog to say thank you to all those that come and leave comments. You can put yourself in for it here:
