Less is More - pastel colours

I've ended up with a bit more on this card than I intended so I hope it still qualifies for Less is More!  The silly printer blobbed a bit of black ink next to one of the flowers, so I've added the pearl swirls to cover it up... it would probably have looked better without them.  Of course, I should've just scrapped the smudged printing and printed again, but I thought I could cover it....

I've used one of the new flower images from Digistamp Boutique, available in a set here, used photoshop to put 2 of the flowers together and then printed them onto linen cardstock.  I've used my Stampin' Up 'dot' stamp to add random dots of pink, green and blue Memento ink, then embossed a line above and below the dotty section (this isn't really showing up on the pic).  I printed out several of the flower images and 'coloured' them with the ink pads, then cut them out and layered them up.  Added a computer generated sentiment, punched out with the Stampin' Up word window punch, to finish.

I'm also entering my card for the 'pink polka dots' challenge at Cupcake Craft.

Huge apologies if I've missed visiting your blog this weekend, I didn't have time to do much crafting or blogging.  Planning a big catch up session this afternoon when I get back from picking Morgan up from school :o)

  18. It's fabulous Lisa!! The pearls look wonderful! I just read an article by a lady commenting on boo boo's just like this! http://www.fleurtyscrapper.com/2011/03/no-mistakes-only-room-for-embellishment.html

Interesting as usually when I made an error or my chubby fingers smudge something, I'm ticked off and then toss it...but, you embellished away and it looks great!

  39. Hi Lisa

Wow!!! This is amazing. I love it very much and I think the pearl swirls are just gorgeous!!!

I have been having a good look at your blog to see what I have been missing.

Firstly, many congratulations on your permanent DT position with Digistamp Boutique .. .. very well deserved!!!

Next, I wanted to say how well I think you are doing with your Cricut. I have had mine quite a while (managed to get it half price when a craft store was winding down) but you seem to be experimenting with yours far more than I do. I very sadly use mine for the most basic shapes and letters .. .. but I love it!!!

    So many lovely posts.

Thank you for visiting my blog whilst I am temporarily "off the scene".

Thankfully my lappy is now back in action .. .. yippee!!!

    Love Jules xx

  50. Less is more pastels came CAS beautiful topped in pearls. As in clothing pearls complete the outfit, so it is with your card, decoyed smudge and all. Lisa, that is papercrafting, all about the smudge and hairline tearline coverup to emerge as the prettiest card of the crafting day. Well done.
    Keep Looking UP!

  56. I really like your card, and who cares about the blob of ink? You covered it perfectly with the pearls, LOL!! I had the ink blob issue today, but mine was with a rubber stamp. Hate when that happens!
