Well I'm even later than usual tonight - we spent the evening at my mum's and decided to order pizza... yum :o)

We've been to see Epic with the boys today - it's the school hols, hubby's off work for the week too, so of course it's done nothing but pour with rain lol... It was quite a good film, the kids enjoyed it, but I was more excited by the clips at the beginning - so many sequels coming out this year, and I can't wait for the Monster's Inc one... I love kids films!

We've been out all day today, been to Wentworth Garden Centre... not for plants, just for cake lol, and a lovely walk around the gardens.  Then we hit the shops for sandals for the kids, trainers for me (so I can start doing proper exercise and shift some cake-related podge!...), and hubby even let me loose in the Range.  It's supposed to be raining tomorrow, but I'm planning a day shut in the craft room anyway so it won't matter!

Hello... late as usual!  I've completely reorganised the craft room today, thrown loads of stuff away, moved the furniture around (with Pav's help) and I now have a little desk for my sewing machine... I've had it for at least 2yrs, probably longer and haven't really got a clue how to use it lol, but I'm determined to learn.  And that'll be easier with a permanent place for it, instead of on the window sill gathering dust!  So expect to see some wonky stitching on my cards soon :o)

My auntie (the one who's just a few years older than me) orders a lot of my cards, and as I've mentioned before she prefers them very CAS... this week she asked for a Christening card and I just couldn't think of anything CAS without being overly religious (knowing she wouldn't want it to be).

Less is More - coloured card blank

Hello everyone :o)

I have another DigiStamp Boutique card today, this time for the 'coloured card blank' challenge at Less is More... it's also one-layer week and I'm not great at those!...

Like my card yesterday, I opened up a solid digi paper in PagePlus, layered the image on and then added the sentiment underneath (changing the text to white before printing).  Then I sanded the colour off around the edges to leave a distressed white border.  It's dark blue, not black, in case it looks like I'm cheating for the challenge lol.

Bram's home from the vets looking very bald and sorry for himself, poor love!  He had two abscesses that both needed draining, and he's now got big holes that need bathing to keep them open... I'm not even thinking about the bill, it's too scary... sob!

Black Floral (in white!) - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone :o)

It's my day to post over on the DigiStamp Boutique blog, and I've been playing with the gorgeous Black Floral set... It's supposed to be a sympathy card for a man - what do you think?  Is it appropriate?

The images are all black, but I wanted them white so I've changed the colour in PagePlus... I started with a solid digi paper, layered the image on and made it white, then did the same with the sentiment and printed them out.  Because the digi paper is printed on white card, you can then use a sandpaper block around all the edges to take the colour off, giving a white distressed edge... I quite like this effect!

For today's card I've used a gorgeous Saturated Canary digi stamp, and matched her up with some lovely goodies from My Crafty Heart... I've had this one half-coloured in for weeks and finally got round to finishing her off!

Isn't she fabulous?  It's a full length image but I've just used the top part of her... and I thought she went perfectly with these papers!

Thanks for all your lovely messages about my poorly old cat... He's a bit brighter today, managed a drink and a tiny bit of food... only if I stand there with the bowl under his nose though lol!  We've been back to the vets this afternoon and are now loaded up with various tablets, stuff to syringe into him, special food... £120 spent so far - ouch!  Back again next week to see how he's doing, if he's not much better he'll need blood tests and x-rays... We're getting Boris (the kitten) insured before he starts being expensive I think!

Bumble Bee - Sugar Nellie DT

It's my day to post on the Sugar Nellie blog today... luckily I scheduled my post there, but I'm a bit late posting here due to being in a bit of a flap about our cat - the 'old' one, not the kitten.  We thought he'd been bumped by a car as his left side seems to be giving him a lot of pain and he doesn't want to move at all, but the vet thinks it's just a really nasty infection... he's not eaten or drunk anything since yesterday morning poor thing.  Back at the vets with him tomorrow, and hopefully he'll have picked up a bit with the injections he's been given.

Anyway, enough waffle... here's my card at last!

Less is More - opposite colours

Ok... so I've made a card for this week's challenge at Less is More... but it's very silly, sorry!

This week Chrissie and Jen would like to see opposite colours of the colour wheel.

I chose blue and orange, because I'd bought the new Memory Box fish dies and thought they might work quite well.  I cut 3 apertures with my Stampin' Up square punch, added some tiny blue pearls for eyes and a LOTV tag sentiment - I masked the 'w' and replaced it with an 'f'... It made hubby laugh, but he is very easily amused!

We had a great time in Filey yesterday, apart from getting stuck in traffic for ages on the way... Had yummy fish and chips (well you've got to, haven't you?!) but I resisted ice cream seen as I'm supposed to be dieting...
